I wanna get a motorcycle

See PKM's post.

But seriously, if you've got a family or people that care about you, I'd strongly recommend that you reconsider getting a bike.

dude don't act Like people who ride bikes Dont Know the dangers of it. there are good ways to learn how to ride safely and there arent many things u can do in life that give you the feeling of riding a bike going 120 on the open road. everyone knows the risk involved i think and if they dont and dont ride smart and safe and they get hurt its there Fault.

Would you please learn how to spell? **** man, don't capitalize letters in the middle of a sentence unless of it's a person/place etc. etc. I don't care if you're only 12, use your freaking auto-correct before it goes all SkyNet and kills you.

/If you don't know what SkyNet is, I'll kill you.

On a related to this thread note, I once came upon the scene of a motorcycle wreck. Dude took a corner too sharp, went off the road and hit a barbed wire fence. Took his head off.

/Completely serious.

The guy we buried last week knew the dangers. Been riding since he was 16, good kid. 27 years old, married for 6 months, first child due in 3 weeks. Sitting idle at a redlight and a car just didn't stop .. hit him and dragged him underneath their car for nearly 400 yards before stopping.

Bikes are cool, but definitely leave the rider exposed .. two deaths in two years is undeniable proof for me.

Did this happen in Utah? I just heard the same story a few days ago from my works snap-on truck

I bought my first street bike at 19, and have ridden ever since. I am 41 now. I have had 1 incident, and it was barely that. My bike went over, but no injuries. Bikes leave you more vulnerable in traffic, undeniably, but the art of defensive riding is vastly underrated. When I ride, I wear the proper protective gear and interact with traffic completely differently than I do in a car. Also, I took the motorcycle safety course, even though I had already been riding for years. Best $125 I ever spent (that was years ago, BTW.). Completely changed my riding philosophy.

As far as a bike goes, the 600 VLX you're considering is a very good choice. It has a lower saddle height, so at your size you'll appreciate it. Sport and semi sport bikes have considerably higher saddles. The 600 will get excellent gas mileage and be reliable. In my experience, Hondas have the best history as far as reliability and repair.

I currently have a Shadow Spirit 750. I love that bike.

Our country is screwed. Also, Skynet isn't a game...but it will ruin your life.

my dad has 8 bikes. i learned to ride on an 86 honda cb450. my dad loves his harleys but has always said honda makes the best bikes but he likes byeing American. i can help u if u are getting a used one just tell me which ones are options and ill tell you the Best one to get.

My dad has 9 bikes.

My Dad doesn't have any Motorcycles, but I can Spell buying correctly.

I swear I nearly get in an accident with a motorcycle at least once a week. I never see them coming and they gun it right in front of me on the freeway doing 90+ or just weaving in and out of the smallest gaps they can possibly fit in and most the time not even wearing a helmet. The Harley/bigger bike guys seem to be a little less crazy, but the crotch rocket crowd seem determine to die quickly.
