What's new

Idk about y'all, but...

I'm mainly enjoying the team and like to watch Mitchell play. It's fun, he's fun. I'm not holding out hope for a championship because I think that's too hard when your main scorer is below legue average in efficiency. The math doesn't work. I can't think of a recent championship team that had this problem other than Toronto with Siakim, but they had enough volume and efficiency in addition. Kobe wasn't the most efficient, only a little more than Mitchell, but he knew how to get to the line and that really helps close games. Of course, Kobe was known as the most inefficient closer so maybe there is nothing to this.
Mitchell’s biggest problems are his free-throw rate and his tendency to get tunnel vision as he gets closer to the rim on his drives.

When you combine all that with Rudy’s problems finishing anything besides a lob, then the ceiling of this team is sketched in full detail.

Definitely the best thing Mitchell could add to his game is getting to the line more often. He is struggling at the rim this year (career low, and it's a heavy drop, from mid .60's down to .526) and then also does not know how to draw the fouls. If he could up his free throws per game it would add a very solid dimension that's been missing and make him that much more dangerous.

Really we need Ingles to shoot more, period. Best percentages on the team overall:

My favorite season besides the two finals appearances was the 17-18 season when we were 9 games under .500 and then went on that huge run in the second half of the season and beat the Thunder in the first round of the playoffs. I have a feeling this season may surpass that one. This just feels like a special group and a special season.
I've never loved a Jazz team like I loved that one. It's one big reason I'm glad Favors is back.

Stockton and Malone will always have my heart. I loved those mid-90 teams. This group definitely hasn’t surpassed them in my mind, as those teams played at this high of a level for multiple years straight. The current team has done it for 20 games. That said, I am absolutely enjoying it so far and definitely like this team more than any of the Dwill/AK/Boozer teams.

The team has a very tough schedule coming up in February. Let’s see how they do during this next stretch and then revisit how competitive they really are this year.

This could be the most likeable team ever in Jazz history. Like everyone seems to play for each other, there are no huge egos (or if they are they mask it well), and nobody on the team really comes off like a jerk at all. Very fun team be a fan of.

Add in the redemption part of the story line... the relationships were icy and rather than saying "eff it I'm out" like every player seems to do these days, these guys said "nah we got this". Relationships seem fully functional. As you mentioned, everyone seems to play the right way.

All very exciting stuff... even if it ends with a loss to the Lakers in the playoffs.
