What's new

If I could...and it works on the trade machine

Celtics get-----

Devin Harris
Danny Granger

Pacers get-----

Paul Millsap
Ray Allen

Jazz get-----

Rajon Rondo

maybe pick thrown in......but we get to keep favors, hayward, kanter, burks. plus one or both of picks.

NO! I'd rather have Millsap than Rondo. He is not the answer at PG for the Jazz.

What is the fascination of Jazz fans with PG's and wings that can not shoot.

Id really be happier if we sat on everything we have and see who pans out. But I do think well trade either jefferson/millsap or both.

At this point, Ainge is looking like an ***. He's trying to deal Rondo, the same gut who dislocated his elbow and came back that same night and played. No other player does that.

I'm not condoning this trade, but how in the world do you not want Rondo. The jazz don't need their pg to be a good shooter. He's a good passer, facilitator, defender, rebounder, slasher, leader. All of those strength's far outweigh that one weakness. Rondo would help this offense run like perfection. Who cares that he can't shoot! HE'S A GOOD PG GET OVER IT!

+1 I couldn't agree more. His shooting is a concern but the way he fights through injury etc, Jazz fans would fall in love with him.

Rondo's effective for Boston because he doesn't have to do anything more than what he does. If he came here with the guys the Jazz have, he'd be Ronnie Price Deluxe.

Rondo is an amazing player. But to go along with lack of outside shot, he has attitude problems. We shouldn't have to go through that again.

AND with a ****ty attitude. All for only $50 million.

DO IT. DO IT BEFORE THINKING.

I'm tired of hearing the myth of Rondo not being able to shoot. That was **** that has stuck with him since he first came into the league, but if you've actually watched his game, his shot has progressed and he's not a bad shooter. With that being said, he's a pass first guy, good defender, and gritty. Pretty much the heart and soul of the Celtics the past few seasons and he doesn't get the credit he deserves.

Wow. Hyperbole, I hope.

Only sort of. If Rondo can do what he does when Allen and Pierce aren't out there, I'll take it back. As it is, I see him as one of the best role players in the league and nothing more.

So, aside from the debate regarding Rondo's ability to shoot, there is no ****ing way the Jazz should deal Harris AND Millsap and come away with only Rondo. Unless they get a reacharound with it.

He's a terrible shooter, any way you cut it. Per 82games.com, he had an efg% of .382 on jumpers last season. He also had his worst year from the line, shooting 57% for the season. That's not progress.

Rather than turning this into a neg-rep battle, I'll address it on the board. The Price thing was tongue in cheek, partly, and I won't debate his toughness or his grit, but there is no way I would say he's not a bad shooter. Teams play off him and dare him to shoot for a reason: he's a bad shooter. I would always rather have him take a shot than penetrate and dish. Every single time. If he hits an open jumper, so be it. Better him than Allen or Pierce.
