If Lottery Rigging Exist, Aren't the Jazz Safe?

Yeah. Why did the league hand blue chip prospects to cities where NBA basketball goes to die? New Orleans, Memphis, Minneapolis, Orlando?
Yeah if they rig all the drafts, then why give Minny two #1 picks in just few years?

If you rig just selected ones like the Wemby draft, then why the hell would they be so dumb to send him to SA instead of Rockets or Mavs who were BOTH in that lottery.

Thats balderdash. My son and I both said that Dallas would win the lottery after half of the Dallas fans abandoned ship and burned jerseys. I called that one 4 months prior to the lottery. Felt as scripted as when New Orleans won the lottery post the league turmoil.

Do I think every pick is rigged? Nah. Why bother when talent can pop all across the lottery and beyond. Do I think the top pick is tampered with on occasion to change the fate of franchises after franchise changing moments force massive exodus' of fans? Yeah, I do. The "lottery gods" seem to be playing soap opera scriptors far too often for anyone's liking.

Lebron going to Cleveland (hometown hero stuff)
Rose going to Chicago (hometown hero)
New Orleans post league ownership to add value so they could sell the franchise?
Wemby going to the Spurs as the next generational big man to replace the Duncan / Robinson big man dominance of yesteryear.
Dallas post Luka trade where fans burn jerseys.

There are plenty more. Is it every year? Nope. But the #1 pick is one of the easiest ways to revitalize a disillusioned franchise. Dallas fans are back in droves to watch Cooper. It stunk before, during, and after.
Ewing to New York does look rigged but they were using envelope back then. It was reported that ny envelope picked by stern was creased.

Today's draft has a timekeeper who raises his hand every 10 seconds for the balls to be drawn. He had his back turned all the time. How to make sure Dallas ball goes out first?

Did a little more reading. It seems like Ernst and young is responsible for sealing the envelopes before broadcast. Could it be?

New Orleans - to help sell the team.

I am not of the opinion that they play god every year. But what happened after everyone burned Lebron jerseys in the streets in Cleveland after "the decision"?

What happened after Dallas burned jerseys very publically? What happened when New Orleans couldn't sell their franchise and public perception was at an all time low?

Timely intervention.

Ewing was a hack job. Just go watch the video. Its wild. If they did it once why not again?

There are just too many moments explained away by lottery luck. If a team makes major news that changes the franchise' perception at a national media level, expect the "luck".

Again, I said this plenty prior to the Mavs winning the lottery. It wasnt a surprise.

Yeah I called the top 3 picks, just got the order wrong. But the relevant teams ended up with the predicted top picks. Far too many coincidences and just plain too much money on the line to really trust it, not to mention the scandals that regularly come to light, officials fixing games, players involved in illegal gambling, players paid under the table, and the league just turns a blind eye. It's all about the money and it means too much to the league to leave it all to chance.

The Spurs part is something that makes absolutely no sense in these conspiracy things.

The NBA wanting to set up the 3rd biggest franchize in a state where 80% of the population is white/hispanic is hilarious. And also San Antonio is a bottom 10 market by all metrics, whether its merch sales, viewers, franchize worth, metropolitan area size or whatever.

SA wasnt relevant before Duncan, and wasnt relevant before Wemby, yet the NBA is somehow hell bent on raising them to relevance by giving them generational prospects.

Dumb luck makes 1000% more sense.
You have a short memory. The Spurs have been a stalwart since the 70's. They came on strong in the 80's/90's drafting the Admiral, remember him? And San Antonio is far from a bottom 10 franchise, we have posted a ton showing they are top half minimum and top 10 in most cases where it matters, bringing revenue to the league and spurring (see what I did there?) increases in TV deals, way more than Utah ever did. No one tunes in to watch the Jazz, a ton of people from around the world tune in for the Spurs, and that was long before Wemby was on the scene. The bottom line is that the Spurs are way more important to the league's bottom line overall than the Jazz.

If it wasn't rigged we'd see real time drawing. It makes no sense to not have it unless it's rigged. And why this? Because real time lottery drawing would garner real interest. And what does that mean? It means profits, money, cash. But as rigging the lottery means prolly more profit, money, cash, in the long run, it will be forever rigged as long as someone can catch them red-handed for rigging it.
