I loved the part where Locke said, "BOOM-CHAKALAKA-DING-DONG, DIPPITY DO DAH, CRUSH-HYPER-MATIC ATOMIC FLUSH DOWN by Millsap on the 1st of 2 free throws. 6:56 left in the first quarter and the Jazz are now up 1 from that free throw....*and he misses the second*"

Everything's relative, and relative to most, Locke is really good even if he compromises his integrity to prop up his bosses' product.

Hack? No. He prepares and has an opinion with what he believes to be true and a reason why. Even if it's wrong.

Annoying? Sometimes. He isn't a great play-by-play announcer by any stretch. He tries a little too hard. Just call the game and don't worry about catch phrases. That sort of thing is lame.

He was much better suited in the radio show and pre-game/post game shows.

His voice is annoying as chewing on aluminum foil, but I appreciate his preparation and delving into details other broadcasters don't go into. I even like his crazy spreadsheet theories. Some times I wish he would just slow his delivery down and use fewer words than just rattling off cheesy slogans. I understand how difficult it is to describe a basketball game on radio, but throwing in states during a game doesn't help. He is better this year than last year, and hopefully he will improve.

Absolutely not. I think he is far from being a hack. I don't think you Utahr folk know how good you have it.

Good radio host; horrendous play-by-play man.

I paid 10 bucks on the iphone to get audio for all the games with the main reason being that I don't have to listen to Locke.

This post brought me to tears. Rep.

I miss Hot Rod.

Did you listen to Hot Rod towards the end? Oh man, it was rough. Like Ron Boone with brain damage. I think he stopped drinking on air and it was downhill from there.

I appreciate Locke's enthusiasm. He says a lot of stupid stuff, but it's kind of endearing.
