Is Deron Williams the floor general who can lead the Mavs to the playoffs? (article)

I wish he would've come back here this offseason; we could've really used him with Dante going down.

I've watched D-Will the last few years in Brooklyn/NJ - he has maybe a quarter of the intensity that he had when he played in Utah. And he's been whining about the same ankle and wrist injury for the last 5 years.

He's done - he'll flame out in Dallas as the season goes on (or get hurt). It's a nice thought - but I'd rather watch Dante develop without the inevitable circus revolving a D-Will return.

I remember listening to Larry Miller talk about Deron Williams during his thursday weekly show with Kevin Graham (or whoever) and Gordon Monson. He said that he had never seen someone with the same competitive fire as DWill.

Remember those days when it was a legit argument who was better, DWill or CP3? Seems impossible now.

Without DWill submarining the whole thing the Jazz don't have Favors though so I can't hate it. Even if we had to watch Ty Corbin do performance art for 3 seasons.

Damn. Boston could get two high lottery picks next year.

The 2016 draft isn't shaping out to be much. I would MUCH rather have 2 draft picks in 2017 than 4 in 2016.

Also, Dallas is 3 - 0 to start out the season. Not a bad start for a team that we think is going to barely make the grade. It's not a good sign for us. Then again, we are 1 defensive stop away from being 3 - 0. Our only loss came to a 3 - 0 team. So, I think it won't be long before teams are chasing us for position in the standings. Hopefully De'ron grew up. He was a fine player, but a diva nonetheless. His biggest weakness was his inner Jordan Sparks and it has ruined his career.

They are 2-1. They lost to the Clips and beat the Suns and Lakers.

Can't help but think that the injury bug is karma for pushing Sloan out...

I liked Sloan a lot as the Jazz coach, but the fact is he quit on the Jazz mid-game, mid-season. He is a quitter, confirmed. Sorry that doesn't fit your worldview and you have to try to find a scapegoat for his actions.

I loved watching him play but he just turned into a cancer that had to leave.

********. He didn't quit. They made D-Will the head coach.

He quit. I can't believe how Sloan doesnt get any of the blame. He ****ing quit. One of the greatest coaches of all time, but he quit. The funny thing is that Jazzfanz probably shared the same frustrations D-Will had. Modernize the offense, don't play the same outdated defense from the 90's, why the **** do we have Al Jefferson, why did we let Matthews go, why did we let Korver go?

I love Sloan, but the guy needed to go and we needed a coach who could change with the new era.
