What's new

Is Earl Watson really OK as b/u to Devin Harris?

I was pleasently surprised by Watson last season and am totally fine with him as backup PG coming into this season. The real player we should be dead set on replacing is Ronnie Price.

This.

I still think the jazz's first priority is to sign Watson and if that doesn't happen I would entertain locke's thought on trading memo for Anthony rollover and Jordan farmar!

Memo for Petro and Farmar would upgrade us nicely. Petro might do better in a structured environment like the Jazz.
I still like Watson; we could do a lot worse. He had some real good games for us, but he struggled with consistancy after DWill left, especially when Harris had to sit some games. Just sayin' we could do better.
I'd love to see us end up with OKC's Westbrook, but can't imagine why OKC would trade him to us, unless Howard committed elsewhere. Then we could offer Jefferson, but no idea how to match the salaries...

No thanks. Both players are over priced and have another year on their contracts.

Anthony Tolliver is an interesting player. So is Spencer Hawes. Either one as your 4th big would be pretty nice.

Assuming Memo regains most of his form somehow, he might be the best of the three options.

Earl runs the offense better than Harris. Better than any other PG on the team. He won't take over a game and win it for you (maybe that's what people have against him) - but he won't lose it for you either. He's a game manager, and one of the best in the league.

He's a fantastic backup (best backup the jazz have ever had?) and a decent starter. Jazz need to retain him, and either trade Harris for a replacement (?) or draft one (Marshall).
