If someone like Colorado Jazz posted something like what OP just posted, there would be negs to go around, and shots at the OP's intelligence.

I'm not saying that I don't somewhat agree with Cy here, but I just find it interesting how people react to certain people regardless of what the content of the post is.


I think Jazzfanz is loaded with a bunch of mindless drones that don't dare to lead and are just followers. A lot of people don't dare to say something the majority will disagree with. Or they don't dare to go out on a limb, so they attack whoever does just to fit in, unless that poster is an established popular poster.


I'm waiting to see how people treat Cy in this thread. The experiment is on.

I have never disagreed with any Jazz fan more than I disagree with Cy. He seems to be in love with Trey Burke and hates Dante Exum and looks for every opportunity to make excuses for the former and point out the faults of the latter. I do the opposite to a lesser degree with Exum/Burke. I do come up with what I feel like are justified excuses for Exum and really don't think Burke is very good. And if I recall correctly Cy spent a lot of time defending Corbin when he was here, but I could be wrong. So I just ignore him for the most part, although I think it's nice to have a differing perspective to test my own biases.

My only worry is he has yet to show any kind of killer instinct. I'm not sure if that's something that is there and needs to come out, or is not there but can be developed, but it's a problem.

I agree he is a very special talent, and I really would hate to see him throw it away. Kirilenko is a great example. He was outrageously talented, and he could have been a top 10 player in the league for a long time if he wanted to. He just didn't have the drive to fulfill his potential.

I'm glad there are some people who say some positive things about dante. I like to see posts like this.

I'm usually very positive about young jazz players in recent years but I have been very negative and critical of dante.

The fact that you don't understand the difference screams agenda to me. You've been on this trash Exum mission for quite a while. If I had to guess, you're probably trying to back up a prediction from pre-draft or something. I don't blame fans for having their doubts, but you've been on this anti-Exum kick since very early, and it appears to me that you somehow have a horse in this race, as compared to being objective like most of the doubters.

Bull ****. Stitches posted a clip of Dante boxing out friggin' Bogut successfully. I don't think he's afraid of contact so much as letting his teammates down. I was at the Portland game with good seats, and one of the first plays of the game was Dante driving in the lane and missing a floater. He's obviously afraid of something, but I believe he just doesn't want his teammates pissed at him for missing shots when he could have passed it to them. If that's the case, he WILL overcome this once he starts having some success offensively.

Having said that, I can understand why people might think he's afraid of getting creamed by driving to the basket. Boxing out a big man like Bogut proves this kid isn't afraid of contact, but driving in the lane and getting hammered is a lot easier way to get hurt than boxing out. I wouldn't blame him for being afraid of getting hurt by driving to the rim, but right now I'm convinced his problem is not wanting to let his teammates down by missing shots, which is something he'll overcome with experience.

I think a lot of it is his legs being gone. I know he is more explosive vertically than he has shown, I think he is just super fatigued, so he probably doesn't have confidence in his legs to really get him near the rim to finish.

I think Exum has a good frame, so I'm excited to see him when he gets buff, but right now he is a skinny bitch with a crane neck.
