Suck it, OP. Suck on our freedoms.
The freedom to have one of the highest homicide rates in the developed world?
Okay..

Okay..
There are 4,000 murders in the US every year that don't involve a firearm. Think about that for a second. Most people can get a gun in the US(including felons albeit illegally) and still a third of murderers are like "nah I'm just going to cut the bitches throat" or "Screw a gun that's no fun. I'm gunna use a hammer." Americans are more likely to resort to violence than other developed nations and it isn't because of guns.
If you want to know what happens in America when we ban stuff look at the drug war, prostitution, prohibition. If you want to know what America would be like if we banned the great equalizer(guns) you only need to compare the cities that ban guns to those that don't. As is done above.
most amazin part of dis is bein able to buy somethin on black friday within 30 min.

A lot of countries don't take the stats seriously. Really. Mexicans use knives a lot more, but who cares, nobody's countin'. Bet there's some neighborhoods in every human trafficking mecca, like Thailand, where nobody knows or counts.

Correlation is not causation. I think a relationship could also be shown between cheap beer and murder, and after we tossed all the natty light into the landfill we would still be scratching our heads wondering why there are still murders.
To me the issue is never about the gun, the knife, the bat, the tank or the helicopter used, it is the conditions that led a human to conclude in his mind and heart that killing another human was okay. When someone finally does a study that uncovers the motivations and conditions that led to a murder then we can begin to talk about it.
However, I won't hold my breath for such a study and discussion, because gun control has been demarcated as a political battleground with the elected office as the prize. The sides and talking points are already determined and neither side really wants to solve the issue or move from their trench.
