Sweet sir!
I would like to keep the penny for reasons of precision. 1 is a beautiful number.

On the contrary, 1 is the lonliest number.

Something else Australia did many years ago - we got rid of the $1 and $2 notes and replaced them with coins. Although we are still a Constitutional Monarchy with the English Monarch as our Head of State rather than an independent Republic, and as a result it is apparently law that our lowest-denomination note must have a picture of the ruling monarch on it, so we also got a new $5 note as well with Liz Windsor on it.At any rate, I wish the one dollar coin would become better utilized - it probably wastes about as much money to print paper dollars as it does to mint pennies. I know it'd be cost effective to use a coin for $1 rather than paper currency.
Here ya go:A two-cent coin would be great. A lot of people would use it to give their two-cents' worth.

I am in agreement as well. Get rid of the penny. See, we CAN all agree on something...regardless of political affiliation.
