When Joe asked him who sang the song, this is how I was hoping the interaction would go:

Nope. None of those. His value goes WAY beyond what he provides on the court. I know Utah had a lot of respect back in the Stockton and Malone days. But Mitchell is truly an ambassador for the team, city and state. We just have to hope he doesn't Lebron or Durant us. But that's something to worry about years from now. And something tells me he's going to be loyal to Quin and DL...as long as the team is built to contend. I sure hope all those years of being the cheapest franchise in the league filled the coffers. Probably not, though. I'm sure the Millers drained as much as they could before turning the team over to a BOD.

This statement about the Jazz being cheap is pure idiocy. You should be thankful that the team you cheer for has had such great ownership for decades.

Larry H's insistence on being in the black every year is the primary reason Stockton and Malone have no rings.

As for the more recent ownership/front office, Jazz under Greg Miller and Dennis Lindsey had the 28th to 30th lowest payroll for 4 years. If you look at the draft picks, the only player Utah couldn't have drafted by not "GM tanking" and instead being competitive is Exum.

And, it could be argued that signing good FA's on decent contracts could have opened the door for more trades. Lindsey had opportunities to add players, make the playoffs and still draft in the 20's.

Kudos to Dennis for his successes. But the Jazz didnt have to be so bad.

I have friends who wouldn't give two ***** when I talked about the jazz for years. Now they all have Mitchell jerseys and are hyped jazz fanatics. The kid is a game changer on all fronts.
