Is the projected core FATALLY FLAWED?

The biggest flaw is that Hayward is the number 1 option, and it requires all 5 players in the core to be healthy.

Exum - Hood - Hayward - Favors - Gobert is a good line up. Enough to compete 4-5 in the west.
The problem is they cant lose anyone, and still maintain. Since we don't have a star on the team,
we rely on the sum of the parts.

One flat tire, and the car doesn't drive so pretty.
Good analogy. We have a five wheeled car, and we need all of them to have a prayer of getting where we're trying to go. Meanwhile, Curry is popping wheelies down the highway at 90 MPH... and it's pretty!

I'm pretty sure everyone should just chill... 3 or 4 years ago you would not have thought gsw were a contender either. Players develop and things change. What if lyles is our draymond green (not similar players per se but what if he has a similar impact) curry was not a star back then. We have sustained a ton of injuries... We are very young... We have huge holes that could have been filled with better veteran players but we punted in the name of flexibility, continuity, and development. I've been critical of DL doing that but those are decisions that should have long term payoffs.

Also we have more assets than the dwill Jazz team had. We had no financial flexibility and AKs fragile body and psyche really detailed that team. Even so... That team might wreck today's NBA with how it was constructed had we had a more modern thinking coach. Korver, okur for spacing and the PnR machine of dwill and booze. Millman was great and had we had as many draft assets and some cap space as we do now we could have moved some parts around.

Lyles, Exum, Gobert and Hood all have pretty big leaps they can take. Favs and Hayward are not finished products. Jury is out on burks but he's still an asset. 5 first round picks (potentially in the next three years). It may be 3 or 4 years before this thing is what it will be but I'm not sure now is the time to make short sighted trades to win now. Gsw are too good and are in their prime. In a few years they may not have Bogut, AI, and Barnes could bail. Currys contract will expand and take some of their flexibility away.

I know it sucks but we need patience.

A team that is winning .500 with the 2nd yougest roster in the NBA, no bench to speak of, and lots of injuries is not FATALLY FLAWED nor is it fatally flawed.

We are in a great spot with a bright future. We will develop and get better and we also have lots of assets so if a really good trade comes along we can make a move if we want.

we need healthy exum to conclude this argument. till then, let's stay put

Hood could be an all star. Exum could be as well. Gobert, Favors and Hayward already get all star consideration. Lyles is going to be pretty good. Our starters and Lyles and burks are pretty decent, probably a notch better than the Toronto team when they are healthy and have matured another year or two. That is a borderline contending team with no luck at all from this point on. If we get lucky again in the draft, like hood and gobert, we will be pretty damn good.

We also need more bench depth. Our bench freaking sucks with burks out.

Add mack to the pieces that are keepers, and when healthy that's 8 players who belong in a rotation. We need to have 10 to make it a viable rotation when injuries come into play.

The only huge problem is that Gobert can't catch.

I'm convinced even Chris Paul couldn't feed Gobert.

Dude Exum is going to answer a lot of this teams questions. Your eyeballs will pop out of your head when you see what he's going to give to the team.

That is great for us but poor Fish has waited for this team and won't even be able to watch it. He will just have the announcers on and will have zero idea if we have just made a two or a three. Pray for Fish!

Lol.
Fml after my eyeballs pop out. All down hill from there

The truth is to win it all you got to get lucky with one of your core players contract. GS is good not only because they have Curry, but because they have him at 11 million a year.
SA has an intermittent dynasty because Duncan, Parker, and Ginobli are always giving hometown discounts. It allows for a rock solid bench. If Hayward and Favors both want the max from us and we give it to them, history teaches it won't end well. I don't think you can ask Favors to take another discount, it would have to be Hayward this time. Something to think about.
