Is this Rubio's team now?

I mean, he never got that in Minny. It appears as if he is imposing Snyder's will on the court to a degree that no other player has ever done and being whatever we need at the time we need it. Obviously, Gobert and Mitchell are important, but it appears that both are better with Rubio.

We waited 7 years for Haywood to grab the reins, and he eventually did, sorta. But I never got the feeling that he considered the Jazz "his" team, which was obviously the case. Rubio has come in and grabbed the role by the neck in eight games. I just haven't seen that happen with a newcomer in an established system.

It all may be a fluke and teams may adjust and Rubio may go back to just being a piece of the puzzle, but with what he has done, the love this guy seems to have across the NBA, and the opportunity for redemption story arc being introduced the way it has, I can't help but wonder if we have just scratched the surface of what will become "the Rubio era Jazz."

It's fair to argue that Rubio has been our best player overall through the early part of the season. We're lucky to have him for his prime years.

This is Rudy's team. But, this team chemistry is so great, there aren't any egos.

Rubio's energy and tireless effort influences the entire team. Everyone is balls out the whole game. Thabo, Mitchell, Jerebko, Ingles all are relentless. And Rudy is Rudy!!!

Love this team!

These kind of questions give me migraines.

It's no ones team. They a group. There is no coach Lebron.

We got Mitchell for Lyles + Lydon.

We got Rubio for a lottery protected first that could turn into a 2nd.

We got Thabo, Udoh, and Jerebko for peanuts.

This has nothing to do with the thread, I'm just still amazed at all of this.

Here's the thing about that. This team didn't start winning until Gobert came along a single-handedly changed the culture. Now, that's not exactly true, as he couldn't have done it without good offensive players, but Haywood was never the guy to lead us to wins until Rudy came along. Rudy believed his team could win, and that rubbed off on the rest of the team. Haywood wouldn't be the guy he is today if it wasn't for Rudy. He'd be somebody like Kevin Love, who put up good numbers on a bad team, and was doubted because he couldn't win.

Because of that, I've never considered this to be Haywood's team. He does his thing, but as far as being a leader, he just isn't that kind of personality.

As for who's team this is, I don't think it has to be one guy, but I get what you're saying here. Rubio looks more like a leader in his few games in Utah than Haywood did his whole time here.

I think it's fair to say this is Gobert's and Rubio's team. But right now it's Rubio who is willing this team to wins with his play on both sides of the court. He looks like a man on a mission and seems to be grabbing the reins as a leader, so I have no problem giving him his share of the team.

It's Snyder's team. He puts all the players in a role to succeed and then demands the most from them. I have hated seeing guys in his doghouse because it seems to be really hard to escape, but man do the players maximize their effort the majority of the time!

It's Joe Ingles world and this team is part of the world... so no.

Rudy averages 14 ppg and gets 11 rpg ...ok numbers but not leader numbers .There's no question how effective he is on the defensive end though .

But without Rubio ,this Jazz team would be in big trouble .Rubio has taken over as the leader of this team just by his will to win and Jazz players are following his lead.

"Leader numbers"? Bah... this simply isn't that kind of team. I hope people can begin to understand the Jazz outside of the tradition of scoring stars + bench.

Rubio simply wouldn't be able to play the way he does on this team without Gobert laying the foundation for it to happen on both ends of the floor. Compared to other Jazz players, Gobert's gravity is monstrous. Rubio is a functional satellite that revolves around that gravity and just happens to handle the ball.

The law of gravity was made to be broken and some of us were born to break it.
When you think we zig, we zag. You reach, we teach. You mingle, we jingle.

this team is the avengers. each member brings something to the whole, and they are all leaders in their own field. rudy: defensive leader. ricky: distribution. dante: energy. ingles: personality/spirit. Favors: power.

you know how captain america is the leader of the avengers, but really is far from the strongest one? ricky can do this. take these massively poewerful players and point them toward wins.

(lindsey and snyder are fury and coulson)((guess i'm a geek))
