I am sure this has been said but the Jazz are in winning mode right now and Lyles is a liability on the court. Lyles is not helping us win and we are fighting for our playoff spot. That does not mean the Jazz have given up on Lyles or he is a bust. He just needs more practice and I am sure they want to put him in positions to succeed. We will still play him in certain matchups and in injury situations but I am guessing he gets very little minutes for the rest of the season, except in blow outs. There is no benefit to sending him to the D-League. He would play a different role there and would not help him much unless he really found his shot. Although I think his shot being off is more that he is over thinking the game right now and it is moving too fast for him. Lyles will still develop into a useful player off the bench for us or more. The game will slow down, he will make better decisions and his shot will get more consistent. He has shown he can shoot, he can pass, he can handle the ball well for a guy his size. His defense needs to improve and his decision making but those are more mental things that will come around. Although I doubt he is ever a great defender but he at least tries and has enough athleticism, which means he can be decent.
