Is Ty Officially Gone?

Wooooo hoooooooo take a ****ing hike corbin!!! Don't let the door hit you on the way out you bum!!!

Hmmm. I don't recognize you and don't think I've read any of your posts before, so maybe you're joking. But if not, you should apologize. Have you EVER been coached by a coach at a high level or a coach with pro experience? I doubt it. But I have!

These guys are smart and good at what they do. You probably have no idea what it takes to compete at a semi-pro level like I do. The professional pressures they face aren't too different from what I deal with everyday as a mortgage loan specialist. Let's be honest - Ty has done an admirable job considering the pressures he has faced on a daily basis from fans with your type of attitude.

He deserves more respect from amateurs such as yourself rather than some sort of insinuation that his bum should be violated by a door.

You make some excellent points in a very strange way in this post. Now I'll ask the two obvious questions you left hanging in the air:

1) Who did you play for?
2) Can I get a loan?

I heard it has a coaches option for 3 more years. And has incentives for wining 40 games or more.

And disincentives for making the playoffs.

Eh, I mean he did put the Jazz through agony the past few years. He took the head coaching job, he preceded Sloan, and he gave us tons of pain. Nice guy, and all, but still the franchise is fortunate to still have a core of young players with the way he wasted 3-4 seasons for us.

.... Ty is an exception to this. No and No.

I agree Mr. M that Ty has faced a lot of pressure in his job and he should know basketball having been in the game all his life, and having played under some great coaches. But the guy has made a lot of dumb decisions (that's the only I can describe it) during his tenure as head coach. He is not someone who can think well in the moment and at the same time can only see the moment -- focusing on the play of vets when he should be developing the younger players. So maybe he knows what should be done but he often does not do what should be done, if that makes any sense -- like not using matchups well or making good in-game adjustments. Based on what I have seen, he also does not inspire confidence or motivate the team very well. The latter relates to his personality. So, perhaps, Ty just is not a good leader. He may do well in a support role, as an assistant coach, but his performance as a head coach, so far, has been poor. He's had his chance with the Jazz and it's time for the Jazz to find another head coach.

Agree. And it's the same in the NFL. You have coaches that are GREAT offensive and defensive coordinators but fail when given the chance to be head coaches. Ty is a good guy, popular with players, but just not great with the X's and O's nor at big picture stuff like installing complete offensive and defensive schemes. He excelled at helping Jerry (and Phil) instill their ideas and strategies. Ty is going to drop down to being an assistant coach on another team and do a helluva job. I wish him well.

Also Ty's assistant coaches don't exactly inspire confidence. You've got Lowe the tax cheat who seems like he's been fired at every juncture. Mike Sanders really does nothing for me. Heck Sloan had an ex NBA Coach of the year as an assistant and a successfull college head coach as well. The last assistant the Jazz had that floated by boat was Horny and that ship has sailed.

Sorry, but my retarded dog could do a better job with player rotations and clock management in a lot of those situations Corbin found himself in. He's had over three years to figure this out, and he hasn't.

Great post aside, Ty is still an idiot.

I'm bored, so here are some semi-related tweets, interpret as you will:

Lockedonsports: Hearing we could have flood of college coaches to NBA in reaction to Brad Stevens contract. Yet, we still don't know if NCAA to NBA works

ESPN700Hans: Too many people close to the Ty Corbin situation have told me he's gone for me to think anything else. I wish him luck wherever he goes.
