What's new

Jabari Parker

Playing him would not be how I would’ve chosen to convince the jazz to give me assets for him. Lol

Guess you didn't watch the game. Parker scored 11 pts and had 7 rebounds on 50% shooting in 18 mins. Not that it matters much in a small sample size but he was +3. Contrast that with Ice Cold Crowder who was 1-13 in 24 mins. I think he showed he can still be a decent rotation player. Can he resurrect his career and be a good starter? Not sure. But he's been a much better shooter than Crowder will ever be, although neither have been shooting 3's that well this year. Jae is a chucker who needs to shoot less. Outside of his last season with Boston, Crowder has generally been <33% on his 3's. I know Utah is loyal, but Crowder is not a player Jazz should be relying on.

He got a 20million dollar contract!! I promise someone will give him a 1 year at at least 15million on the hopes he just needs a change of environment, he got that last year, and needs another because he’s been banished by a 10 damn win team. That alone should tell you he doesn’t have that jazz dna.

There's a huge difference though between Parker's offseason last year where he had clearly shown a ton of potential with the Bucks but had some lockerroom issues, his two ACL injuries, and the apparent fit issue between him and Giannis who both effectively play the same position but Giannis is a top 5 NBA talent while Parker had potential but hadn't proved anything. There was a lot of talk about Jabari just not being a good fit for the Bucks behind Giannis and needed somewhere where he could control the ball more. Bulls had a ton of cap space and figured that he might be worth the $20 mil price tag if he plays back to his potential he had shown with the Bucks while their team were bad and actively tanking, and bringing in former #2 ovr pick who's also a hometown kid and has wanted to play for the Bulls from the beginning could end up being another nice piece with LaVine/Markannen/WCJ if he had a return to form.

In the upcoming offseason Parker will now have a Bulls season under his belt where he wildly underperformed, showed little to no interest in keeping himself in shape despite playing for the team he wanted to play for since being drafted, has regressed statistically across the board as a scorer (which again is his only known NBA trait), and came out within a week or two after getting signed to his big deal and basically said "I'm paid to score not play defense", but then was bad at both. He made it painfully clear that he's unable to play the SF position, and he is a complete liability to have him anchor your defense at C, so his versatility positionally in a league that is becoming more and more positionless is also a glaring drawback.

All of those things combined with the fact that he can't even get into the rotation on the 2nd or 3rd worst team in the NBA means he isn't going to get paid unless in the scenario I've mentioned previously with a desperate team giving him money on a 1 yr deal, but even then he isn't going to get $15 mil. I can't think of a single team that would look at his current Bulls season where he lost starting roles to Justin Holiday and Bobby Portis and can't even crack the rotation without injuries because he's out of shape and does very little to help a team win and think "oh wow I think we could get the most out of this guy who's had two ACL injuries, is out of shape, and has regressed statistically doing the only thing he's menat to be good at, let's pay him starters money and hope it works out!".

Bulls and Knicks discussing Jabari/Kanter but want a third team to take Kanter.

I've been saying it for a long time. Just say no to Parker.

It could happen, or it could be Chicago is trying to up the asking price from another team and using Kantet rumors to do it.

The only value Parker has in any trade this year at the deadline is for capped out teams looking to get off some salary that Chicago might want to take on in exchange for future 1sts.
