Jabari Parker

For the season, locker room, continuity, I go with Favors.

For the way the playoffs is played, I do think Jabari could be more an asset than Favors. Against GS/Houston types, Favors doesn't stay on the floor because he doesn't have an elite skill. If Jabari can be our upgraded version of Joe Johnson, he could be a major asset when we need a bucket.

I would be absolutely shocked if any NBA team even pays him 50% of his current contract. What's the market for a PF that has torn his ACL twice and doesn't bother to keep himself in shape, openly declares he isn't going to bother playing defense so good luck trying to run him at SF or at C, and has seemingly regressed as a scorer which is essentially his only real NBA skill?

Being the #2 OVR pick can only get you so far, and his Bulls season has been an absolute disaster. He couldn't play a lick of SF since he was out of shape and lost that spot to Justin Holiday, and then he lost the starting PF job to Bobby Portis. Once Markannen came back he got completely dumpstered from the rotation, and the only reason why he got minutes against the Jazz yesterday was because Portis got injured in the Warriors game the night before.

I think he's worth taking a flyer on for the minimum but I think you're severely over-estimating the market for him. Maybe a team with spare capspace throws a 1 year deal at him for $10mil+ after striking out on FAs to give them a nice expiring deal for the trade deadline and have the small chance he returns to form, but for a guy that was happy to go to the Bucks originally because he would be close to home in Chicago, then got the opportunity to play for his home team and come into the season out of shape, play awfully, and lose both the starting SF and starting PF jobs to Justin Holiday and Bobby Portis respectively... there aren't going to be many suitors for him in general, let alone a suitor that's willing to pay him.

Of all those different ways you described how his career has evolved or de-evolved, why would it be worth it to sign him even if he did come cheap. And it totally is the jazz MO to make a signing like him and call it an offseason. Remember how the jazz called Burks coming back from injury an offseason. Lol.

Because sometimes players just need the right environment to get themselves back on track. The Bulls are completely toxic right now between their FO, Jim Boylan, and their mismatch of players. If the Jazz think they could get about 80% of what Jabari was doing with the Bucks then he adds another player who can shoot off the bench and create his own shot, and if worse comes to worse you can just waive a minimum guy. There would be other teams that have a similar though process with Jabari (Rockets for example would love to take a flyer on him and just waive him if it doesn't work out), but there aren't any teams that are going to pay him big money unless a despearate team throws a big 1 yr deal at him after Plans A - Z fail.

Parker fits our team like that glove fit O.J. in his trial. He can’t shoot, and doesn’t play defense. So, he doesn’t play defense, and his offense has regressed, and we struggle at times to score. He’s no better than some cheap role players we could add it makes no sense what so ever to bring him on. Also, he’s going to be asking go for a none cheap one year deal most likely.

So your point is basically Jabari sucks and everyone knows it yet he's going to want a big payday?

I don't really disagree there are better role players the Jazz could target but if Jabari is your 15th roster spot on a minimum I don't see the problem with taking a chance on him.

Holy hell, you think he’s signing to a minimum contract to be our 15th player. He will become a toxic in the locker room.

I don't see how thinking he's going to sign a minimum contract is any more outrageous than you saying that someone is going to pay him big money but sure.

He got a 20million dollar contract!! I promise someone will give him a 1 year at at least 15million on the hopes he just needs a change of environment, he got that last year, and needs another because he’s been banished by a 10 damn win team. That alone should tell you he doesn’t have that jazz dna.
