Jaren Jackson Jr. traded to the Jazz

How are they going to pay everyone after taking on JJJ’s sizable contract? Let’s hope no one offers Walker a huge deal..they also have to pay Keyonte.

If the Jazz give Kessler a deal they will have another year to look at their development and decide who is more worthy of keeping long-term.

It's not like that. From what I've seen and read, JJJ seems like... a nice guy. A beta type who will always defer to a stronger personality. In Memphis, that was always Morant. Jackson was an overpaid Robin to his Batman.

What I mean with "baggage" is that he'll bring with him the style of play that unfortunately made him a two-time All Star. Guys are not really going to change their games later in their careers when that happens.

The trouble is that it's very difficult to integrate his black hole, back-to-the-basket, ball stopping tendencies to a modern NBA offense. Lately, the Grizzlies have been trying to play at a faster pace, moving the ball, and it was clear JJJ was just confused by it, floating out on the fringes of the offense. He didn't know where to be or what to do if he didn't get his trusty, outdated low post touches.

Hardy has his work cut out for him. Our offense has looked really good with space and movement and both Lauri and Keyonte thrive in an environment like that. JJJ, on the other hand, needs spacers around him and a static offense. We'll see who gets the "parked in the corner" assignment.
None of this makes any sense. A great player in a disorganized system with a toxic guy like Morant who is supposed to be their leader can kill a teams chemistry and morale. I’m confident the culture, camaraderie and Hardy’s development puts JJJ in a position to succeed. Also he won’t need to be a big time scorer here we brought him here for his defense - also Walker is the paint guy on offense, JJJ doesn’t have to be. Give him a chance before assuming what his deficiencies are. It’s a new situation with a totally new team dynamic and he doesn’t have to drastically change his game to have a big impact on the team.

We can say we’re keeping Kessler or keeping the pick all we want but just saying it doesn’t make it so. There’s a lot that transpires between now and then (on both accounts) and whatever intel the FO has, they don’t possess a crystal ball. The road there has to be driven and not just hypothetically envisioned. If we end up on that path and hit unforeseen variables then it’s “oh yeah, nobody anticipated ______ to happen so of course it changed things.” There’s going to be a lot of ______ that’s going to happen and we’ll pretend ______ was completely unanticipated and unknowable, which will be true, but knowing that SOMETHING unknowable is likely is not hard to predict.
Just like people can say they are losing Kessler and losing this year's pick, but just saying it doesn't make it so.

However there is evidence that the Jazz will try to and intend to keep their pick and re-sign Kessler. While there has been nothing to the contrary to suggest otherwise, we'll other than people online worrying about it, or defaulted to expect the worse as a fact, or certainty.

Agreed, but Morant has spent a ton of time on the sidelines or even away from the team, and JJJ hasn't stepped up as a leader in his stead.

He's mostly been an invisible role player and the team has been carried by a ragtag bunch of bench types. Not ideal when you're a 200+ million guy.

There are no restrictions to signing rookie extensions. We will be able to keep both in any case, but the question is how big of a hole we end up in in regards to aprons.

I think both JJJ and Lauri contract being below max is giving us a slight edge over teams who have actual max/supermax deals, but when Keyonte gets his bag then we are going to get our hands tied pretty much. We have to be very precise working on the fringes. Cant take on any "bloated contracts" or long term pieces that are questionnable fits, unless we know we can offload them.

We are gonna be the team who pays FRPs to dump guys in a few years time if we accumulate such trash.

Dang auto correct. I meant to type 5 teams. Thanks for helping me fix that
Fact is #1 team has 50% chance of 4 teams passing them. Its just about them not winning in lottery. But when you go to #5 team the chance of that happening already drops down to 0.6%, because you need every lottery winner to come from the group who has 6th (9.0%) best odds or worse.

There is no hard cap in the NBA. Ryan can pay anyone as much as he wants.
So the answer to your question is simply, go into the tax.
That's the how. Not sure if Ryan is willing or not though
