Jazz and Bulls are in active trade discussions regarding Zach LaVine

Again, you’re not getting the point. You said the jazz were not being close to the vest in the DA era. I disagreed and I pointed to the Cleveland trade.
That is not really evidence that the Jazz were being tight-lipped. By all accounts, that did fall out of the sky.

I agree. IMO it just happened to happen. I just don’t agree with his point of the jazz haven’t been tight when it comes to talking about trades to the media.

I don’t know. I wouldn’t say they’ve got organizational dysentery but I also don’t know that the Jazz have ever been so consistently in the rumor mill and many of the rumors either being corroborated by real sources or coming to fruition.

Another strike is that the Jazz were rumored to be trying to acquire Sexton months before he was acquired.

The aforementioned Collins rumors, as mentioned.

The Lakers trade is reflective of a months-long negotiation where Ainge blinked and taped together something at the last second.

Sexton and LaVine would be incredibly dangerous together
Who’s gonna move the ball when LaVine and Sexton take turns at iso? Boston just showed us what great ball-movment and 3-point shooting can do. And what about defense? LaVine and Sexton can’t defend perimeter. At least one of the starting guards has to be a good defender for us to become a contender. Our defense would keep sucking. If Danny is smart, he won’t bring in anyone who can’t be traded easily if there becomes a need for it. The Bulls tried hard to trade him before the deadline (to up to 15 teams one report said), but no one wanted his bad contract). Idk, if these rumors are true and Danny does this, I’ll join the puke party.

What about Lonzo with LaVine and flipping LaVine to the Lakers in a 3-team trade or something. I believe Lonzo has one year left in his contract. I’m a Lonzo guy and would love this if he can stay healthy.

I don't have a lot of concerns with Sexton and Lavine on offense as both can play off ball and have different skillsets. We might need to find some passing from the center or other forward spot to make sure everyone eats. Defense would be rough. If we do the deal I think Lavine and Sexton are not a long term pairing. I think its a fix and flip or Sexton is moved in connection with the deal. So its Key and Lavine for the medium term?

Like I get that fit might not be ideal. I don't know that it is the reason not to do the deal. The Collins fit last year made less sense theoretically and it played out on the court about as bad as you would guess. The original thought was Collins/Kessler/Lauri front court could work but it did not.

If we were to make this trade I don't think I would pencil in Sexton as the starting pg next to him over Key. Hardy clearly has his favorite and Key was higher in the pecking order than Sexton early in the season.

Upside view of Lavine is he healthy and is a #1 option. Suddenly Lauri is better because he gets to be #2. Whether Sexton starts or comes off the bench he lead the bench units. It also takes the creation pressure off the young guys.

The downside he is likely going to be hurt. And he isn't a great passer or defender.
