Jazz and Knicks discussing Donovan Mitchell trade per Shams Charania and Tony Jones

Now ... this is a few steps ahead but... does anyone think maybe small part of the reason the Jazz are going full tank is because of who is the no. 1 prospect in the draft? A lot of foreign players seem to not have the same hang ups about being in Utah/small market teams and they seem to be good spending huge majority of their career with the team that drafted them(Rudy, Giannis, Dirk, Parker, Ginobili) and trying to win with that team. Maybe I'm reaching here... I don't know. What say you?

I don't really think that is the main factor for choosing to tank, but i do believe that going for international prospects is a smart decision for small market teams like the Jazz

Yeah, I don't think it's the main factor. But I wonder if it enters into the consideration after the first half a dozen reasons to go for it.

There’s a legit chance that we have multiple unprotected first round picks from two of the worst franchises over the past twenty years. On top of that, both of them would be trying to force multiple big men/multiple small guards to share the floor in a wing driven league. That’s absolutely incredible.
People really aren't giving Ainge enough credit in this regard. If Ainge gets the Knicks picks w/o protections, dude should be a frontrunner for GM of the Year. Okay, in my head maybe. But still.

I am ok with doing a Knick deal without having RJ in it. I actually like him but he may make a full tank less likely. Toppin, Grimes and 6 picks is a good deal. Throw in Rose to make the dollars match and maybe Jericho Sims too.

Get RJ AND FLIP HIM FOR PICKS, another poster already mentioned that and i totally agree, RJ is just 22 years old though and was playing lights out at the end of last season

We're going to set another team back years (hopefully the Knicks) and ESPN will have a 40 for 40 called 'The Fleecing of America - how the Utah Jazz ****ed the NBA Up and **** and Won a Title In the Process, You Bizzles'
