Jazz are Setting Up a Tank

Honestly, it sounds like Windhorst is speculating here. “Because Ainge did this the last time he was in a similar situation, this trade means it’s going to happen again!” That’s not great logic in my opinion.

Or, he‘s going to attempt to sell high on Royce and upgrade him.

How on Earth is precedent and history, combined with what's happened the past two months, not great logic?

Doesnt mean it's right, but the logic is very sound.

Conley or Clarkson.

I think either would be good candidates as tank commanders
- Could juice their value for a later trade
- Good locker room guys with good attitudes
- Probably don't win you many games if they're your best player

Clarkson is ideal.

Conley with Bogey and their vet leadership could play with a lot of pride and win 35 games. We need Clarkson to be the guy who feels like he has to chuck it 25 times a night.

Also, can we trade Whiteside to a **** team for their 2nd next year?

That wasn't the damn point of the conversation. Somebody said it's all planned to go to NY and I explained why that makes no sense. Cy busted his big head into it and twisted the context of the conversation.

Cy busted his big head into a thread he created and has driven all the discussion about.

Because it’s a sample size of one and he traded aging past their prime vet former stars, not current stars in or headed into their prime. Massive difference, *******.

Donovan is past his prime. The foot injuries and being a 6'1 guard will age him quickly.

I think Gobert gets traded. Mitchell wouldn't be traded until the KD situation resolves, since Miami is pursuing KD and may also be the front-runner for Mitchell.

If the Jazz trade Gobert and the package has solid wing players to play next to Mitchell, then it will look as though the Jazz are planning to build around Mitchell for a while.

If the Jazz trade Gobert and the package is very pick heavy with very young players coming back, then it points to a rebuild.

Possibilities should be:
** Gobert to Atlanta for Collins/Capela/young player/picks. See if Capela gets moved to T'wolves in the deal. See if Bojan gets packaged and sent to ATL to replace Gallinari.
** Gobert to Toronto for OG/GTJ and another piece, e.g., Flynn, etc.
** Gobert to Minnesota for a boatload of picks and young players picked up in the draft like Walker Kessler, Wendell Moore, Kendall Brown
