What's new

Jazz at Bulls 7:00 CST

Rudy got the call. I was happy he got the call. It was upgraded to a flagrant 1 and I said it was a weak flagrant foul. If that makes me have low IQ then ok, guy. I'm just capable of not putting every hit to the head in the NBA as an absolute flagrant. That's weak to me.

The defender made a play on the ball and accidentally hit Rudy's head with his arm. Basketball is a physical sport and stuff like that happens. It was a foul.

You guy's are acting like he got Karl Malone'd. Rudy got a goose egg, but he'll be alright.

Harpring thought it was a weak call and so did the Bull's announcers. Low IQ though, right? I mean, if someone has a different opinion they must be stupid.

Y'all are soft.
Nah, you misunderstanding. I also think it's a weak flagrant. But a flagrant nonetheless. I think a tap on the forearm while a player is shooting is weak foul yet still a foul. I think some travels are weak travels yet still travels. I think some goal tends are weak goaltends yet still goaltends. I think some charges are weak charges yet still charges. I don't think the dude tried to hurt Rudy but he certainly hit him with a hard shot to the head (see that tweet video of Rudy's head, that's wasn't a grazing or anything) and due to the rules deserved a flagrant.

And there are also hits to the head that do absolutely nothing to long term health, like the one to Rudy's last night.

Your guy's argument are based off of what ifs, maybes, potential, etc. I get it. However, there are still hits to the head that do absolutely nothing and you guys wanna make it into something.

Rudy's head is fine.

The studies have shown head hits are dangerous and long term effects from a hit cannot be known at the time. Also, a flagrant one isn't that bad. You don't get fined.

Flagrant Foul Penalty 1: Unnecessary contact committed by a player against an opponent.

:'(
Wikipedia:
In basketball, a flagrant foul is a personal foul that involves excessive or violent contact that could injure the fouled player. A flagrant foul may be unintentional or purposeful; the latter type is also called an "intentional foul" in the NBA.

Says nothing about unnecessary contact.

Except my quote is from the NBA while yours is from wiki.
