It is Mr. Gasm to you good sir, and my point was, PPS isn't everything, otherwise Jeremy Evans (1.48) would have a max contract and Kirilenko (1.39 last year with Jazz IIRC) would still be a starter for us.
And besides, based on his positioning, with a minimum contract, by your estimates it could have been worse (125 other players in the league with a lower PPS). How many of those players made mores $$$ than Howard? I love it when people come up with one stat to show a player sucks. BFD. At least bring it with Dean Oliver's TOTAL offensive rating, incorporating FG/FT, assists, turnovers and offensive rebounds.
oh there are plenty of stats to show that josh howard sucks. i just picked one because it addresses the false notion propagated by boler & harp that he was really "coming on" before the injury. the guy was never on, he's a volume shooter, and that's what he has always been.
but you want more stats? that's kind of my thing, so here you go...
- 10.5 PER (well below league average of 15, worse than CJ miles, only slightly better than roger braille and earl watson)
- .411 eFG% - only guys worse on the team are blake (in 4 total games, 30 total minutes), earl (on 5.6 attempts per 36 minutes) and carroll (in only 20 games).
- 1.2 apg, or 1 assist for about every 7 shot attempts, worst of all perimeter players.
- a win share of 0.5, lower than everybody on the team except for carroll, tinsley, watson and ahearn. that's a list you want to be on.
- got to the line less often per FGA (.268) than any rotation regular other than al or braille.
