I remember I was in the arena the game he was introduced. I was like 10 at the time. ****** news, but I would imagine after almost 25 years he must've done something quite foolish.

Not to jump to conclusions... but this sounds like something not great happened. If it was just he's too old I'd think they would have addressed it in the offseason. The fact they used "fired"... not great.

I've been to many games where Bear was the best part of the game, or close to it. He will be greatly missed.

Yeah... they felt they had to address it and they said he's been fired... not retired replaced... with the timing and such I'm guessing there may have been a conduct issue.

Right... I didn't want to go there, but I'm guessing every team went back and started asking questions this summer. Could have been something more innocent than that and they are just hyper sensitive... could have been like a Spence Checketts DUI thing but the timing and tone suggest it wasn't just him getting hurt or too old to do the job.

Deseret News is reporting its due to a 'rift with the staff' which could mean any number of things. Not sure that's the phrasing that would be used if it were a sexual harassment type thing though.
