Jazz considering Jonas Valanciunas at #3

The only reason he's projected lower is due to the buyout situation. He is ahead of Kanter on the most respected mock and has been for the entire year, and every scout Locke interviewed liked him better as well. Basically anyone who has actually seen him play in real life.....which isn't you.
Which is the most respected mock? DX? Why?

KoC is doing his job very well; considering ALL possibilities... Nothing's locked in concrete, and a trade is still a possibility!

He does his own research - conducts the most interviews between players and agents by far. Travels overseas to research players like actual scouts. Is privy to all type of exclusive information (like Kanter's complete high school games). His track record in the last 3 years has been impeccable. He nailed the top 6 perfectly every year except for Johnny Flynn in 2008. And that was Kahn at work :)

BTW, Ford's latest Mock also now has Kanter at 6 as well. Givony sets the standard, the others simply parrot his information and try to dress it up like they actually formed this opinion on their own.

How often does he update his mock drafts?

'cos he still has Kemba to Toronto @ #5 which to me is a pretty big call... (i.e., over Kanter)

I have no issue with JV. I just wonder about KOC's mindset. The best move is to leave JV overseas next year even if the lockout isn't resolved. That would fit with trying to work Memo back (for a hopeful deal). And it seems premature to start his salary clock. Picking him 3 (or high in a deal) wouldn't be the sexy move since gratification is likely delayed, but it might be the best longterm move.

It's a very feasible plan to draft him and leave him overseas 1 year. You can count the number of 19 year olds bigs that contributed in the NBA on one hand. Not having to worry about his minutes would also give the Jazz one more year to better evaluate Jefferson and see if they want to keep him long term over Millsap. That is a pretty big decision. Both are free agents in 2 years and chances are the Jazz won't be able to afford both with a hard cap CBA.

Sep-kanter is a much better fit to favors than valanciunas

BN- Maybe, but JV and Favors are definitely better fits for Jefferson. My main problem with Kanter is that he is redundant with Al, I don't see that with JV/Favors.

if you are confident enough to the build utahs future on Big al then dont draft Kanter, but i am not

Really? I would have never guessed that would be your opinion.

if u were abandoned in a small island like a box, what 3 things would u prefer to have with u ?

let me guess,
Derrick williams, Brandon knight, Jonas valanciunas?
