Jazz considering Jonas Valanciunas at #3

Valanciunas is more of a Center than PF and Kanter is more PF than center. But Kanter has much more upside than JV. So its more logical to pick knight rather than valanciunas.
one simple comparison,
Valanciunas' ceiling is Brook lopez, both style and quality
and for Enes its Nowitzki.
We will see who will reach their potential and who will not

LMMFBAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!holly **** is that funny!

Bad trade. That package alone could get you the number 1 pick. Knight's ceiling is Harris in his prime. The GS pick has the potential to turn out and get a solid player and the 12th pick could be a solid player like Biyombo, Singleton,Thompson,Donatas,Burks,Kemba,Jimmer,Hamilton. I like Knight but he is not that valuable.

I disagree, i think knight can be much better than harris. I dont hate harris but its obvious he is not a clutch guy and he isnt a legitimate pg for a contender. Talent base he may not be much better than harris but he has stronger intuition and more important, confidence. Thats what i see in knight.

12 th pick wont give us as much upside as knight, (i dont think donatas, leonard or such caliber players will fall there) and i dont think singleton thompson biyombo will be more than decent starters. And for next year, its for sure that the draft will be full of talented players but its not sure gsw will be at the top 8 or not. So its a risk worth taking for me.

with a young core of knight hayward kanter favors we can be contender consequtive years.

I thought Valanciunas' wingspan/standing reach was more than that. Valanciunas might be more energetic than Kanter, but I think Kanter has more natural talent.

As far as trading assets to move up in this draft I'm against it. Every player's a gamble so it's nice to get as many gambles as possible to increase your chances of one hitting the jackpot. IMO Knight hasn't enough upside to sacrifice all those other gambles for this one player. Stop falling in love with players. NO ONE IS A SURE THING.

i have a reason to love kanter (nationality), but i never supported memo so much and i think his contract is too much for his skills. So i think im pretty objective, but lets say i love him just cuz he is turk, then whats the reason people hate him? or judge him without watching one single game in nba?

i have seen kanter play on tv in a real game, not highlights, pkm saw in real, and people still think we love him becuz he is handsome or what?
He is very talented, lets accept this.
If he will suck in nba, the main reason will be intangibles, not in-court attributes.

This is a little ridiculous. Lopez is pretty young so how do you know how good he can get? Not to mention his weakness (boards) is JV's cornerstone skill.

Then you go on to compare your guy to the greatest shooting big in history. There's nothing wrong with honking your boy but this is a pretty far cry from a convincing argument.

Watching all the JV videos that were posted he was very good at high Pick and Roll (with VERY minimal D unfortunately) However, he did show great hands, fluidity, and a naturalness. He also noted how EXCEPTIONALLY long his arms are. That puts him closer to the reported 9' 6" standing reach which was rumored here before. (unless he really just has a long neck...)

So his value could be that he is a clone of Favors and thus Jazz could go back to two high post game in which either side is deadly. (Well provided you have some guards, all sorts of them, to run it well.) So you add to this plan that Milsap is good at high pick n' roll so the odd man out is Big Al. I think Kanter is more AJ look-alike, but i only saw one game and that was the Nike Hoops Summit game. And that game is an All star game so its pretty much 'who has it, shoots it" offense.

Favors, JV, & Milsap gives you the right 3 post rotation so that you can go tall+tall, or tall+short depending upon matchup, yet all the guys play the same game. I'm a Big Al fan but it is clear his game is different.

In short, JV seems to be a fit to an existing Jazz strategy, be he also has very high bust potential.
