What's new

Jazz have been extremely aggressive in FA, re-sign Ricky Rubio and pick up Derrick Favors option

On the flip side here are my contrarian thoughts, many people here are always wanting the Jazz to try and be different, well today they were. They were one of four teams in the entire NBA that didn't make a trade which included the Spurs. Which leads to my next thought, many people are wondering why the Jazz can't be more like the Spurs well today they were.

That is all carry on.

[QUOTE = "Spinoza, post: 1717047, miembro: 2422"] De hecho, creo que estaré de pie es lo correcto. I don't know how. [/ CITA]

You completely miss the point. We don't want the jazz to be different from everyone else, we want them to be different than they themselves have been for years and years and actually ****ing do something.

Yeah, I thought it would happen. Clearly I was wrong and underestimated Memphis's patience.

I assumed the Jazz had higher values placed on a guy like Porter, but they either didn't or didn't have the pieces that team wanted in return.

I also assumed the Jazz didn't have free agency confidence, but I guess they do. That's good to see.

If they have free agency confidence why did we have a good offer on the table for Conley?

We had. Yet we value Exum (

) so much that we said no.

People like @LoPo should be stoked. He's always talking about how he wants big risky moves. The Jazz playing free agency is that.

Might the Jazz fail? Sure, but that's part of the risk you ask for.

Which is why I'm not upset by sitting on our hands. I will be if we bring the same product next season by keeping Favors and Rubio.

As for upgrades, the losses of Jonas and Burks cancel out the additions of Korver and Grayson. I don't think we upgraded the team, but at least we didn't downgrade either.

Because it's a risk vs reward proposition. The Jazz thought the price they offered was low enough to offset the risk of FA, but any higher the risk of FA is the better bet.

When DL fails to improve the team in a given year I'll complain. He made the Korver deal this year. I know that's not the huge deal we want, but its something.

And again, your boy Mitotic is even more signable now. You should be relatively optimistic.

We basically turned everything around when Korver got here. We were a horrible three point shooting team before Korver, and much more consistent since.

As far as Mirotic goes, you’re right, hadn’t thought of that before. He would seem to be a one year rental. Someone tell me if I’m wrong. If we strike out on Harris, I think he’s easily get able.

I'm just gonna go on record now saying I'm pretty stoked about Tobias Harris getting shipped out of LA. I have a feeling he's going to want nothing to do with Philly in the off-season, and I really think Utah will have as strong a shot as anyone at his doorstep.

Time will tell.

You should be happy he protected your favorite glassman from being traded to Memphis for Conley.

Im not against Dante being traded. Beleive it or not Im 100% in on the Jazz and their Championship aspirations. I know Ricky isnt part of that blueprint and know that the room for error is so small that we cant keep throwing away assets.

All this was straight after the deadline and I was in full rant mode with a guts full of RAGE!! My apprentice absolutely copped it today.

Jazz are going to renounce Rubio, I'm pretty positive unless we win a championship.

Favors will be renounced as well if he isn't used in a trade (he has a late guarantee date for that reason).

There is 0 reason to not be optimistic for this off-season.
Favors will be renounced ONLY if we need the capspace to sign someone better.
