I’m gonna choose to believe this is one last desperate attempt to get teams to come with serious offers for our quality vets instead of lowballing. Because any alternative scenario doesn’t making any ****ing sense.

Not sure what the thinking is here at all. This roster is just so terrible and so devoid of any upside and without attractive picks (before 2031) to hopefully get stars.
John Collins for Jrue seems like it could happen, but this would just be stupid, idk.

Hmmm, interesting. What moves could the Jazz make to get better now? It would be nice to be able to send an offer for Grimes but I don't know if the Jazz could free up money for that. I do like RJ Barrett, if he is available. We can try to get Anthony Black from the Magic. A Kuminga sign and trade is always there. The Pelicans seem right on the edge of starting a teardown with all the Zion stuff going on, we could try to vulture some players from them. This offseason will probably have alot of movement and it might be a good time to get in on some great players. It's not ideal timing for the Jazz but opportunity doesn't wait for anyone. If Younger Ainge just wants to stack up good basketball moves and transactions, I can see him being very active in bringing players in. Especially if he wants to put his stamp on the team.
The first thing the Jazz need to do if they’re really thinking about willfully putting themselves on the treadmill is to get their pick back from OKC. As it stands, if they just miss the play-in while the Timberwolves or Cavaliers have a year from Hell and hit the lottery, the Jazz would be ineligible to receive that swap.
I would vastly prefer - to a degree that might be impossible to convey - they trade out of their quality vets, organically bottom out, and start rebuilding in earnest without skipping steps from there. I can live with that.
Coughing up a lottery pick to the Thunder in a good draft so they could get out of a contract they should never have offered in the first place five years prior would be unforgivable. That’s what will happen if they put their foot on the gas.
