Ian Clark is receiving interest from the Golden State Warriors, Portland Trail Blazers and Utah Jazz following a strong performance in Summer League.

Clark played for the Warriors in Las Vegas and for the Miami Heat in Orlando.

"I'll sit down with my agent and family and talk about," Clark said. "I don't know too many details. But I want to make the right decision.

"I'm trying not to pay attention to what I can't control. I just wanted to come out, play basketball and play well."

Clark is a 6-3 combo guard that is also receiving interest from European teams.

Clark played collegiately at Belmont.

Never heard of him...

He hit 7 3 pointers in the summer league championship game in Vegas on his way to 33 points and the Championship game MVP. Great shooter

(From what I've read): 3&D player, but as skinny 6-3 combo guard. Not much of a rebounder, passer, PG, & doesn't get to the line; but terrific shooter and good enough athlete. Won conference defender of year twice. Interesting to imagine paired with Burks for a few minutes every game.

Getting additional shooting can't hurt anything (except the tank).

More like help the tank if all he can do is shoot.

I've seen him play maybe 20 times or so. Decent player but I wouldn't think he's anything more than roster filler.

After perusing his college shooting stats, I say why not?

When he shoots his body seems a little unbalanced--his right side gets ahead of his left--but it works. I noticed he has a very small step into his shot. That is nice. Comparatively Trey has to make a large step into his shot to shoot in motion. Trey's shot takes more time to get off, soething he will have to fix.

Step in with a fully guaranteed contract. That still leaves one roster spot open, which is how the Jazz like to begin a season.

Can't forget about Raul Neto. If we pick up this guy, Jerel is likely gone. (he may already be)

Maybe that's ok. I don't mind combo guards if they come off the bench. Because Neto is supposedly the future at the backup PG spot this guy could only expect a one year tryout.

Why? They are valuable off the bench in the NBA. If he has upside and is cheap what's the harm? Especially for this team this year?

We already have Burks and Lucas, both combo guards, for the second unit. I don't see a need for another PG, not a combo-guard at least, but we are really thin at SF especially if we want Hayward to play SG.

But we are tanking this year so we can do anything I just don't like the idea of having more than 1 combo guard.

Thin at the SF? First of all, If we want Burks to be part of the core, he should be getting most of the time at the 2, so Hayward really needs to play the 3. Second, Isn't filling in for injured players exactly what Richard Jefferson should be doing at this point of his career? He will be fine filling in for Marvin till Marvin comes back, then we'll see what Marvin has to offer when he isn't injured.

I do agree that we don't really need another combo guard. Personally, I want to have Neto come over right now. A little competition can't hurt things.

Burks is a combo guard but is probably going to be our starting or backup SG. This guy can play with Burks if Burks can handle the ball. Lucas is a PG isn't he? I thought that was pretty much all he was. Either way I'd rather have a young guy like this come in and completely with Lucas for backup minutes and let Burks be the primary ball handler off of the bench if he's not starting.
