His team is pretty good when he's out there and he'd be replacing the amazing defense of shelvin Mack. Pretty sure it'd be a decent upgrade.

Financial mostly... but also fit wouldn't be ideal either. Hill is a good pg... who can play off ball too but playing one of them at the two negates some of their advantage.

I love CJ though.

Yes, Millers were extremely cheap in bringing aboard Hill, Diaw and Johnson. Just because they have cap space THIS season doesn't mean they necessarily want to go out and use it, especially if it means bringing in someone with a mult-year deal. Look at projections over the next 1-3 years. They're not even going to be able to keep all their own players, let alone bring in another back up.

Da **** you talking about... we are literally at the salary floor right now... FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO DONT UNDERSTAND THE CAP WE ARE PAYING MINIMUM WAGE RIGHT NOW OKAY... we have paid minimum wage the last few years... if we don't spend anything to make the team better this year that asset expires and just sits in the owners pocket.

There are many things we could do... that don't really affect us in future years.

1-extend hill... takes tow to tango but it may help us afford him long term

2- take on an expiring contract from a team for a draft asset or young prospect on a cheap deal.

3- take on a useful player with some salary.

If we do nothing... then talk about waiting to spend later... it will be history repeating... and we will sell more draft picks... that don't actually turn into really good players... and the poor small market millers will laugh at us all the way to the bank.

Look it's the smart business decision to pilfer that money away but let's not act like they are looking to blow that cash later when we really go for it. It's going in the coffers and the basketball fans will not be the beneficiaries.

I won't say anything about Exum and Lyles but moving Favors and Hood at this point is very risky and messes up the entire chemisty and game plan since Hood was a key peace until now while many players were having trouble putting open shots in the hole and Favors is, well Favors who still has a lot to go on in this team. Butler idea is a drooling one but right now I think you just wait and see what happens when things actually started clicking consistently. Trade for prospects instead of already stars who might damage the chemistry. And they don't have to be bad at intangibles to do that. Chemistry is affected when a stranger material is added to the mix. Not the best time for try-outs if you ask me.

Potentially messing up chemistry for a top ten player(on an excellent contract) is a risk that a team that wants a championship makes.

Butler would step in and immediately be the best player on the team, in a league where it has been shown time and time again that not just superstars, but multiple superstars, are REQUIRED to win it all.

You make a good point/case and you might be right. Maybe hell no was too strong but for me its still a no. Seems like we would be giving up a ton and i understand thats what it takes to get a player like butler but damn thats a lot. I guess i wouldn't hate that trade cause our lineup would be awesome and exum looks like crap and lyles might not pan out..... but favors and hood are proven good young players, lyles might still pan out, and 3 first round picks in a very good draft might turn out to be really good players too.... or not.

very risky trade that could look great or look stupid. I still say no.
