jazz mentioned as possible trade partner for ak

I would totally hate this deal. Utah needs to move on from being a redemption team. I know sentimentally it can be meaningful to bring in AK for some, but for a 12-15th guy in a rotation the most important thing is what they mean to the team's chemistry. It wouldn't make sense to mess with the good chemistry flow we're seeing from this team now.

Some of you really think AK's touted defense and emotional baggage would be more valuable than Jeremy's 0 minutes and positive locker room presence?

It amazes me how little appreciation is made for some of the psychological nuances of the game -- or worse, being oblivious to the fact that there's a problem.

I might be the only one who would enjoy seeing ak on our supposed 'pass-first' offense

I would also like to see AK in this offense. Putting a capable player/defender on the second team. He definitely takes Jingles minutes. AK was Sloan's greatest failure. Not the Finals, not 1994. But never finding a way to use the most uniquely talented player in the NBA at the time in his prime. That's on Ol' Jer.

The story seems bogus. By 12/15 Evans will be off the Jazz books and Murry could be off for a $250,000 payout. If that is a typo and the trade happens on 12/14 then that makes sense.

12/15 is referring to December 15 of this year, which is a date of significance because players who signed new contracts in the offseason are eligible to be traded as of that date.

I personally would like to see this deal happen, I think AK would be immensely entertaining to watch play in this offense and we need help on D. If he plays like he did his last season in miny it would be silly not to get him.

I was thinking the same thing ... if he plays like he did for Minny before he started getting hurt. Last year, he never got healthy and in the games I saw him he was not even a shadow of his old self.

Dude quit on the Jazz and now he quit on the Nets. A BIG FR%$#&K NO for me.

This is the ironic thing. The debate was always about whether or not he was mentally weak. The defense was always that it was Jerry's fault or some other extenuating circumstance that cause other people's actions to force Kirilenko to not be able to live up to his potential but not that he just wasn't mentally strong enough to work through adversity. Here now he has not liked Jason Kidd. Now he's having troubles with his current team and new coach. Somehow we forgotten about the original debate and failed to recognize that this is a continuing pattern.

He played well for Adelman, a very good coach on the same level with Jerry; Kidd, I don't think anyone in NJ liked him -- plus AK was always hurt, when I saw him play it look like he was moving at half-speed. This year I think he has just fallen out of the rotation in favor of younger guys.

I think he would be an improvement over Jeremy and be a guy off the bench like Ingles at the 4, who knows how to play and provides a veteran influence. Novak seems worthless except for being able to shoot the three. I guess it remains to be seen if AK is totally washed up or not because he hasn't been able to stay healthy for a long time.

However, I'm looking on the positive side and if I was DL, I'm not sure if I would do it.

Bah, do it if only for the reason that Jeremy might get some burn in NJ. Don't the Kirilenko's love it in Salt Lake? Honestly adding Kiri on the bench isn't going to hurt anything and it may be useful in helping said bench develop, because they are kind of the suck right now.

Guys, Marc Stein is a reputable source.

He's coming. I can feel it in my bosom.

I think this would basically be KOC doing a favor for a friend in order to gain some political capital. Plus it will help Evans' career to get some burn somewhere. DWill also likes him. Empathy move after the DWill trade hasn't played well for the Nets.

Jazz would need another asset though, or maybe it fits into another trade they are discussing.

I don't hate having ak back with the team. I never bought the gave up on the team garbage. Ak is a stand up guy with a unique basketball mind and skill set. If he never plays again, he could at least help hayward and exum learn some perimeter defense, and versatility.

Just got a text from Masha. She wants me to go over to the house and make sure it's tidy. And she gave me a list of what the kids want from Santa. Told me to put it on the Kirilenkos' account.

So some of you want to see how well AK would perform in this "pass first" offense? How quickly we forget. Remember when Sloan put in some offensive plays specifically for AK, because AK was whinning about "touches?" It took about 6 games for that experiment to end because Sloan got tired of forfeiting those possessions to the opposing team. And do we remember the number of times AK was unguarded at the 3 because our opponent hoped he would shoot it? I shudder to think of what our offense would look like with AK on the floor at the same time as Trey. No.

We're in the middle of a youth movement and I don't see them doing anything to disrupt that. I think bringing AK back does, therefore I hope it doesn't happen.

You're fooling yourselves if you think we can stick AK at the 4. Almost all stretch 4s will exploit him and literally toss him around in the paint. If traded here, I'd doubt he'd see many minutes. I'll pass- I like Jeremy Evan too much

I don't think you understand what a stretch 4 is.
