And why did he make that statement? It had everything to do with his argument that Trey and Dante can't play together. If Dante is operating on-ball, and Trey is spotting up off-ball, what does it matter if Trey can't score at the rim or pulling up?

Is this that difficult to understand? Field goal percentage tells so little of the story on a basketball court. If that's as deep as you're willing to go, why even enter the discussion? You might as well be huffing glue and playing with yourself.

ECTYA said that kanter didn't get playing time because of big al and millsap.

Then you said the coach didn't play kanter much 2 years ago because of big al and millsap.

My point was that Enes and Val played roughly the same minutes last season, and Enes was playing behind superior players the season before, so you can't fault Corbin for playing Kanter less than Val. Keep up.

Reality is harsh. The point (pun intended) is that Burke was a poor shooter last season. And he showed very little improvement in his second SL. If that was the ONLY concern then I'd hope he'd improve it. But he's also short, plays slow and doesn't get to the rim (which negates the one thing he DOES do well...shoot FT's).

Trey is going to be a solid backup or a starter on a very weak team, nothing more. The sooner all of you realize this, the better. Fortunately, I think the FO already has and had no hesitation drafting Dante.

Needs to prove it.
So far, he's had a terrible rookie SL, a miserable rookie season and another ****-poor SL. When will he put this great shooting on display? Or is the answer that the Jazz just keep him from shooting until the last 5 mins of each game, when he's "clutch?"

You know what, I'm a FANTASTIC shooter. I just need to be wide open from 5 ft. Shot selection, form - everything plays into whether or not you're a good shooter. In the end, it still comes down to the fact Trey has still not shown he can hit shots consistently.

I assumed you meant (spot up) jump shooter when you said shooter, especially since it's in regard to how he fits next to Exum.

A bunch of C4 posts.... none mentioning exum.

What a crock of ****. Burke will probably end up being at least an average spot-up 3-point shooter at the 1. He can play off-ball just fine.

I also think they were just being diplomatic by holding to the line that Burke and Exum can play in the same backcourt. They can't. Simple fact is Trey can't shoot.

Jonas is not better than Enes in all aspects of the game. Enes is a great offensive bigman. These guys are hard to come by. And he exploits it by not playing defense. No foul trouble. More ball time. Hate those kind of players myself. But he is the bigman that can go 25-12 or so every night if you go to him. But will he help you win? I doubt that. Not with that defense. His defense is so flawed that it shadows his offensive talents.

I assumed the guy who wrote the post would know what I was responding to. That I posted about context later makes perfect sense given core4's initial post. He initiated a conversation about Exum and Trey not being able to play with each other because neither can shoot. I took issue with the statement that Trey's shooting would be a problem in the duo, and then discussed why. You entered late without carefully reading the posts throughout the discussion.

Ya I never saw his original post.... only what you quoted. Then all of his other posts were only taking about treys shooting, with no relation to exum.
That's why it would have helped to quote the part about exum and trey playing together.

We didn't agree. He stated that JV played on a team without a stacked frontcourt AND THEN stated that Corbin didn't give him enough playing time. If he was just saying the same thing, why say it twice? My point was that Corbin was not primarily at fault for Enes's perceived lack of playing time. In Years 1 and 2 he was behind superior, experienced players, and in Year 3 he played roughly the same number of minutes as Jonas. I then took issue with his statement that Enes was used incorrectly.

FWIW, I actually thought Enes should have been given more playing time in 2012/13. I don't think his PT was a problem AT ALL last season.
