Jazz players at the World Cup

Gobert was very efficient and calm on the court. I liked his scoring and free throws. However can't say much about his rebounding, without their rebounding bigs Greece is a pretty bad rebounding team.

Not a good good game to measure France either. Because Greece was with one of their weakest rosters of the recent years and don't have any decent point guards at all.

Who are Greece's missing rebounders? Isn't their best big Bouroussis (7-1, with Real Madrid), who played 21+ minutes againt France? Wonder if Gobert matched up with him directly much.

As always, thanks for the insight on the European scene!

Sweet pass by Dante in the game today
1. That might have been the only ball Baynes handled cleanly the whole game. Not sure the dude has hands.

2. While Exum did a great job finding players after getting "trapped" along the baseline today, I'm not sure that's going to work against NBA athletes. He's going to need to do a better job getting into the lane (as opposed to driving toward the sideline/baseline all the time). The vision and passing was absolutely fantastic in the second half though.

As far as I saw, Bouroussis standing alone as the only decent rebounding big. Their backup bigs are not good rebounders. Glyniadakis is good but he's a stiff, can't keep in the game much. Fotsis, Printezis could help them at rebounding. But biggest misses are Baby Shaq and Koufos.

The favorite thing Greece used to do was eating the opponent big men with Shortcanitis and let his friends collect the ribaunds. Bourouisis had benefited a lot from Baby Shaq in rebounding in the past. Now without him, he looks helpless. And you know about Koufos already, he is a very good rebounder per. But he pulled a Kanter and ditched the Greek team in an intriguing way.

But I think Gobert is a good rebounder nevertheless, I just wouldn't give that much credit to his rebounding performance in this specific game.

Baby Shaq!

The bottom of his hand is right at the top of that painted square box. With his overall reach, can't you work out his vertical jump from that?
You can, using his hand size info. But it requires too much of estimating and guessing for my taste. Plus arms are very flexible and can be very different comparing during a standing reach and a jumping reach. With the Gobert's crazy crazy long arms, that difference might be even more than usual.

Giannis gave Gobert (#16) some problems, was probably the reason the coach yelled at him.

Can anyone imagine if the Jazz had drafted Giannas instead of Burke.

Exum
Hayward
Giannas
Kanter
Favors

with Rudy, Alex, Rodney off the bench.
