bring the dreads back NWG

He's somewhat of a reincarnated Dennis Johnson. But he's a better shooter and he can play with his back to the basket a bit...in a similar manner to what Andre Miller sometimes did. Approach, athleticism, size, and demeanor compare favorably to DJ.

I'm not understanding the Trey Burke comparisons at all. They play nothing alike. NWG uses his body and post ups. I never saw Burke attempt to post anyone up.

I'd say he's more like Andre Miller, Mark Jackson, or even Eric Snow. The poor man's Deron Williams comparisons are better than Trey Burke.

Clearly he's better than any PG we currently have. He's better than Mack and Neto. Are people really going to argu with me over this? He can run our offense, move the ball around, keep the team moving.

Now is he ideal for our starting pg role? Hell no. We need to resign hill or make a move to bring Rubio or Beverley.

What I'm saying is that it was a good pick. He's our best PG currently, better than Mack or Neto.

No, he isn't.

Lol. Go Zags! Go WCC!

Not sure how anyone can argue this, NWG is clearly the best PG we have on our roster right now. Better than Neto or Exum (he's not really a PG). We need someone to run this team. Until we resign Hill or make a move to bring in Rubio or Beverley, NWG is our best PG and I'm not sure how anyone could argue it

You are probably trolling, but I'll bite.

premature point guard evalue-jaculation.

How about we watch him in the D league and then in the NBA before we conclusion-jump?

Average athlete with limited change of speed or burst, good but not a great shooter, lauded for "leadership" and being a "winner", ball dominant college guard, lost in the Championship game, OK passer without advanced passing ability or ability to breakdown NBA defenses consistently enough to playmake at NBA level.

Gonzaga at least runs a faster style offense compared to Michigan so maybe the speed of the game wont hit him as hard as it did Burke.

I think NWG will be able to post smaller guards like Neto for example. My real concern is that his 'physical' brand of defense will just get him in foul trouble.

I'm surprised we even traded for Hill... I mean, hadn't we recently darfted Olivier Hanlan? So Confused.
It shocks me how much stock people put into rookies. They have such high expectations of how they are going to do inedited and yet no patience to wait for them to develop.

1st and 2nd year players are almost always a liability to be on the court.

Also chances are higher that a new player will bust than become even a starter let along a star.

You'll say anything out that ***!!! Really, the 55th pick before he plays a single NBA practice is better then Exum, idiot!!

It appears to me that Hill is gone and this pick solidifies that.

Second round pick signifies nothing, it is just a potential upgrade of our 3rd string PG, who likely will be on a 2 way contract this year. Whether Raul or NWG is third string PG should have no bearing on Hill. That said, Hill is probably gone but I hold out some hope.

Not sure how many of you guys are Cougar fans. If so, you should be familiar with NWG. My Zags have been kicking your asses ever since you thought you'd come into the WCC and rule the conference. OK, you guys got lucky this year. Zags underestimated you and you crushed our hopes of an undefeated season. You ******* Mormons! We'll get you next year...again.

NWG is a great PG. He may never be a starter, but he's going to be a top backup in the league for a long, long time. That's why I just signed up on the board. You all don't realize how lucky you were to get him. I understand the Zags' PG Godfather (Stockton) gave his personal recommendation. That should be an indication of just how good he is.

That's the edited version?

I remember him going off on a highly ranked Utah team(had Wright,Poeltl, Kuz) when he was with UW and than being happy that he made the decision to leave UW so we wouldn't have to face him again.

Nice value pick
