It's true. I don't have proof but I specifically remember it being known when the injury first happened that they were looking at other options.

I assume that i looked on google for it (before quoted post) as i didn't had these infos fresh in mind. Anyways, there's a time span of like two months between injury report and surgery report from jazz press release.

I think it's all about role with him. He'll be an effective roll guy with Ingles in the second unit, adequate defensively against bench fours. Enough of a threat from three that he can't be completely ignored from there if he shoots as well as he did last year.
