What's new

Jazz v. T'wolves

Our offense in the past worked when we were putting the ball "in a blender" and many times in Avenues threads opposing teams would comment how great it was. This year it's just not there, at times we have moved the ball well and looked great but a majority of the time it's just guys looking to score. This is the most prevalent in the 4th quarter as I don't think this team knows what to do. Instead of moving the ball and finding the best shot, we are going iso or taking forced shots.

I still preach patience but it's getting harder by the game. There have been moments where this team looks unstoppable but that is pretty rare. Most of the time we looked pretty soft and hesitant.

Mine wasn’t per 100, just ave PPG and since our offense is/was super slow that makes sense.

Also, 12th is your argument killer?

No one should ever use PPG and disregard pace.

We were top 9-10 for most of the year until the end, where we had a few games in the 80s-90s, which dropped us a few decimals and out of the top ten. Do the math if you want (but please not PPG). We were fine offensively, not a dismal 28th like you are trying to portrait.

Weren't we the slowest pace each of those years?

Hey on the plus side Exum had a pretty good outing.

Dead men go on outings?

As an aside ive been bitching about my sore shoulder and im getting shed loads of ads for shoulder stretches. **** these phones are evil.

well let’s meet in the middle and agree at very best we have been an average offense under Quin? I’m happy to let you do the research but if ending 12th is the best we have done, that’s helping my point all along that it’s been at best average.

Then the underlying point is “why is the offense so complicated just to be at its best year, average?”

The Jazz are trying to bring together three perimeter players who were the #1 options of each of their respective teams the previous season.

These basketball traits are INGRAINED in these players and they are NEVER going to change! Jazz should never have traded Rubio! They had offensive cohesiveness with Rubio running the show and the results were a smooth running offense that shot well, passed well and dominated just about every opponent they played.

My buddy's Siri started asking him questions the other night after he said something. They're always listening.

If we made shots at a half decent clip we'd have won the last two games. Can we blame the offense when we're getting very good looks but they just don't go in?

I'm willing to give it through most of this year. Our offense was decent then, and it was with a guy as a number one option who isn't really a number one option, Rodney Hood, and George Hill having a career year that he hasn't been able to replicate (he dropped off a cliff). This year we can argue that the tools available are significantly better. If it isn't top 10, then it's a very valid argument, bu waiting a while for it to get going back when we had Hayward was a less offensively skilled team.
