What's new

Jazz vs. Pistons (7:00 MT)

That is saying a lot coming from you. I was able to watch the game tonight. Holy hell did Niang look like hot trash. Every time they went at him it felt like he failed.
He got beat by wings, guards, wood blew by him and shot over him... he wasn’t this bad last year.

How good does it seem not to have to watch Davis? Bradley hasn't been great but at least we don't get killed when he's on the floor.
Ed was fouling like crazy too... it just looked more competent. Not being able to do anything with the ball around the basket just murdered the second unit.

Niang has his role but it's nowhere near what he's being given right now. Dude really does nothing special besides hit spot up 3 pointers.

I’m certain he has to lead the league in “and1’s given” per 36, so for every 3 he hits, he gives up at least that on the other end.

I don’t think that’s hyperbole.

In a blowout....he was the only negative at -2.

He definitely looks slower and heavier than last year. His defense is pretty much making him unplayable, which is too bad because he's such a great shooter.
Last year he was able to get to the right spot and while he wasn’t great he wasn’t a turnstile. He needs every ounce of athleticism he has and he should still be improving his body... it shouldn’t have gone the other way.

It's weird, as a fringe rotation player you'd think he would have spent the whole offseason working on his body and came back in the best shape of his life.

Other than half a season with LeBron JC has never played with a group of guys like this. I doubt he has had as many easy looks in the last 2 years as he has had in the 3 games here. He missed some the first game because I think he was shocked he was so wide open. Watch the Caves play at all and you'll understand. They don't pass at all.

Yeah but a lot of those shots are a result of his own ability to create. He has excellent instincts as well as excellent composure playing with a new team. Actually could show Conley a thing or 2 in that regard.

I was talking more about his 3 point shots than his over all shot chart. But I don't disagree with what you are saying at all. The difference being that when he drives he usually sees less help than when he played in Cle. Due to our teams shooting and ball movement he only has to beat his own guy most of the time. Then make a read. In Cleveland its like going up against 3-4 defenders when they drive. Our spacing is so much better than he has seen.

Good points all! From his interview with KK sounds like he’s ecstatic to be here. Playing for a contender in a good system and we’re lucky to have him. I call it our Christmas miracle.
