It would make sense to discuss the next Jazz man on Jazzfanz, would it not?

True. There's been several picks over the years by the Jazz that they haven't worked out individually I believe.

I just don't understand the fans here. We have been begging for a big defensive center for years now and everyone is going for Monroe? I think he could be a good pick but ahead of Aldrich? I think you are giving up passing for defense and the Jazz have a pretty good distributor. Lets actually pick a defensive minded center which is what we need. I know he is white but I actually think he is very athletic. He might not be a Dwight Howard but I doubt any of these bigs turn into anything that nice and Favors (who could be great) will be long gone.

Couldnt agree more. (except for the part about Aldrich being very athletic. I do think he is decently athletic though.)

For me it wouldn't be. I have a weakness for big men that are excellent passers. I loved Brad Miller in his prime, enjoyed Divac even in his flopping years, etc etc. To the extent that Monroe has the potential to be one of those guys, I want him.

It was a hard call, but i picked Udoh. I know Monroe is the sexier pick, but I think at only 1 inch shorter Udoh has a much more balanced game and actually stepped up more in big games late in the year and in the tourney than Monroe.

I don't want Monroe. I think some big, season-changing plays are going to go down in his face. We have Okur for that already.
