What's new

Jefferson should officially be on the trading block

I dunno I just don't see Philly moving him.

I think for the right pieces, they will. And there's this:

ESPN Fantasy Projection: After missing just six games in his first six seasons, Iguodala missed 15 games due to a sore Achilles. That contributed to a swoon in scoring and steals for Iggy last season, but it wasn't the only factor. The Sixers have a lot of young talent and his role changed under new coach Doug Collins. He became more of a facilitator than a scorer on offense, so he ended up making up for the 3-point drop in scoring with a 1.5-assist boost. Second-year player Evan Turner won't push Iguodala for minutes, but he may push the franchise to trade the vet, which could damage his value. In the meantime, expect Iggy to play 66 games and maintain his usual overall value.

So hope for Evan Turner to breakout!

And I know it's just a fantasy projection, not actual inside info, but I know Philly has been thinking/trying to trade him for years, but I speculate it's because they've been waiting for the right time and pieces for such a valuable player. Also, KOC came from Philly, and though what's-his-name is now in NJ, he might still hav a good enough relationship with other members of the 76ers front office to sweet talk them into taking Big Al and a lottery pick.

Don't we already have enough young assets? Isn't there such a thing as too many young assets? Where's the line between young assets and a Junior Jazz team? But yea, I guess we could find a veteran C somewhere (though Cs in general are a wanted commodity--Kurt Thomas is still in the league). I think I'd rather have Kevin Martin.
No. That's all.

I am ok with trading players if it improves the team. This move seems ok to me. Guarantess Favors a starting spot, improves ball movement and defense.

Also, I'm sure he has been on the trading block since last season finished, along with the rest of the team.

Everyone needs to calm down about trading Al Jefferson. He has been nicked up in training camp and is having ankle problems. He will heal and become the beast that he was last year.

unfortunately a big al for hill/thabeet trade doesn't match up salary-wise.

Just include Dalembert and Hill for Big Al and Bell, plus Houston has a lot of cap room, so they can take back more salary and they have TPE from Battier when he was traded to Memphis last season.

Jazz can't give up anymore scoring.
Already have hard enough time getting points with Jefferson.

A bit of an overreaction. I would trade him if something good came up, but I'm still willing to give him some time. Yeah we played well without him tonight, but I'm guessing we had our first full practice yesterday since losing 2 in a row on back-to-backs. Corbin probably put a lot of effort into practicing the offensive execution last practice.
I didn't think that the offensive execuation was particualarly good last night. There was more passing, but not much within an offense. Harris's huge contribution came mostly on his own individual play. Assists vs. Philly were only 17--the lowest of the three games.

The biggest differences last night?
--Favors and Kanter were more confident and contributed more. Same goes for Howard somewhat.
--Bell had a starter-worst -7 but didn't seem to be a huge negative. Made a nice trey.
--Watson didn't run the offense really well and was beat badly a bit but had nice FG% & A/TO.
--Harris was benched briefly for poor performance (just like players generally should be) and came back doing better. (This one is the most insightful IMHO, because it points to coaching strategy.)
