What's new

Jeremy Lin

Knicks are not about to let Lin go anywhere now; the ESPN announcers even said they'd considered cutting him before he went on this tear! He looks like the real deal; very smart and knows how to handle himself in any situation on the court, and wants to keep getting better. He's more athletic than I was expecting; made some great drives to the basket vs the Lakers!

Makes you wonder how many decent players just never were given a shot in the right situation/team in the NBA.

Which may also mean that smarts are underrated--and underappreciated in the NBA

We drafted one of those Ivy League types. His name was Walter Palmer, one of the worst picks ever made by the Jazz. There are smarts and BB smarts and Jeremy Lin seems to have both in abundance.

J Lin is the best show in sports right now. I don't think I had ever had a better time watching my Jazz lose.

Sadly Melo and Amare will return soon and when that happens the Knicks will no longer be Lin's team. Those guys are winning on hustle D and Yellow Mamba. Totally different scenario when their stars return.

The whole league slept on this guy. Utah signed Tinsley, for instance, rather than J Lin. Knicks are going to lock this kid up for sure.

Seems i have to eat some serious crow tonight. JEREMY LIN!! I seem to have made a grievous error in my assessment of Mr. Lin's talents. Hail to Jeremy Lin! If his star zooms any higher we are going to be looking at something akin to a miracle. Some people just have a knack for playing this game when nobody else seemed to think they can. Seeing for me wasn't believing, but i believe now. 38 Pts tonight i heard.

re-posting this post in a thread more germane. Feathers and all (the crow), the kid is shaping up to be the biggest surprise in memory. Long term, who knows. But Jeremy Lin is playing absolutely great for an extended period of time. I am amazed! What a story he is.

Just heard a couple tidbits on the kid...while at Harvard, he dropped 30 on UConn and Calhoun raved about him saying he could play with anyone in college. Fran Franchilla (or however you sppell his name) also said he was a top 12 talent coming out of college...so yeah, I gotta think his Harvard and Asian background hurt his draft stock

That makes sense. What is interesting is that two teams before the Knicks had him on their rosters and let him go.

Not to mention that there were rumors that NY was a couple weeks of cutting him before his outburst of awesomeness.

Kid should have the biggest chip on his shoulder right now.

Yeah, because his projected upside was probably somewhere between Yuta Tabuse and Carlos Arroyo.

At Portsmouth, he was having trouble driving and wasn't considered particularly physical or an outstanding scorer, so his NBA development has been somewhat Millsapian (Paperboyesque).
