I am not in any way saying he stole the game tonight. (1-14 3pt) and offensive rebounds are what did it but I wonder if anyone has any numbers on Jazz win % when Joey Refs vrs Jazz win % when Joey and Javie are on the court.

Joey is a much better official than Javie. Joey calls a fairly good game most of the time. Javie is so obviously biased against Utah that he should have been investigated after game 4 of the 2006/2007 WCF.

One thing I'll never understand is why the refs in the NBA are so old.

We all admit that the NBA is getting quicker, bigger, stronger, and more difficult to officiate. Yet, the refs seem to get older, fatter, blinder, and deafer.

Do we really expect dudes that should be in nursing homes, like Dick Bavetta and Joey Crawford, to be able to adequately run with and officiate some of the greatest athletes in the world?

That's not to say that old people while scary behind the wheel, can't still serve a purpose!

So far this year, Crawford, Bavetta or Javie have reffed a total 5 of Utah's games. The Jazz are 1-4 when these guys are on the court with the Jazz.

Crawford earns a pass for a few more games in my book because of the game where he tossed out Duncan for laughing at him on the bench. (If you go back and watch that on youtube you'll see our boy Francisco looking shocked over the call...man, I dig Big Franc!)

The handcheck foul on Williams was one of those calls that makes me question the integrity of the league at times. That could be called on every offensive possession, but to call it at that moment and give Deron his second foul smelled of premeditation.

This is what I really dislike about the NBA. I want it to be called like a man's game. When I go to park we play the sport like it should be played.
There are no hand check fouls. No flops, no ticky tack stuff with me. I wish the NBA would call less fouls, and really only call something when it affects the play.
Light contact even on a shot should be allowed.

I'm guessing the game was as fustrating in person, as it was on TV.

It was as frustrating a game as I've been to in a long time. Heat Fan is the new Laker Fan, without the justification for arrogance.

The light body contact automatic foul drives me nuts. It's especially bad when a guy goes straight up.

It was a very questionable call. Both of them were, I thought. Perhaps DWill's extended rest in the first Q helped convince Sloan that Dwill was good for the entire 2nd half. Didn't look like he was, though.

The refs in this game were really bad. This and the last Heat game were very frustrating to watch as they seem to get every god damn call and Jazz player's (CJ, Millsap and Deron on plays I remember) were obviously hacked and not call then 10 seconds later the Jazz get foul calls for less contact and less influence on the play or shot. The Heat are the new Lakers. Get every damn call and whine with no "T"S everytime they call anything on them. Labron whining after body check on Bell was a perfect example of what the rule is supposed to be and they called nothing.

All that said the refs did not cost the Jazz this game. Jefferson's defense on Ilgauskas, outside shooting, Deron's not playing well and Sloan's terrible substitution patterns cost this team the game.

sounds like the refs cost the Jazz the game, based on what you posted.

This game was lost by sloppy play in the 4th quarter. None of the things I complained about happened in the 4th quarter. Or at least very few of them.

The refs in the NBA effect the games way too much IMO. I think they are the worst officials in the world. But when your team does all of the things wrong that I put in the bottom paragraph it's hard to say the officials cost the team the game.

well, I know it's hard for you to say it.
that's why I said it.
the Jazz would have been ahead going into the 4th, at which point they would have been playing better, with more confidence, better rested, and probably would have won, or at least made it a very close game.
sounds like the refs won the game.

Crying about officials is weak sauce -- unless of course it's a fumble that clearly isn't a fumble.
