It’s a bad week for Jazz alums. No disrespect to the current Bear but since Absey was fired this aspect of the franchise has been nearly invisible.

I went to a jazz game 2 years ago. The bear was AMAZING. By far the best part of the game (key went off in this game but it paled in comparison to the performance by the bear).
Never laughed so hard in my life.

The guy blew minds over and over back in the day. Phenomenal athlete with balls of steel and hilarious how he messed with everyone including the opposing teams players and coaches. RIP Bear, thanks for putting it all on the line for our entertainment.

I met him 10 years ago. When I spoke with his "handler" I was shocked to find that there was only 1 Bear, and had been the same person since the inception. Every game, every school visit, every stunt... all the same amazing person. Through dozens of injuries, surgeries and recoveries he pressed on with pride being THE Jazz Bear. Rest in peace Jon
