Jordan Clarkson Trades?

Part of the reason JC struggled this year is how we used him. Clarkson off the bench as a walking bucket is a great use for him. Clarkson as a leader on a young team looking to move the ball is a skid mark on Phillip undies from Survivor.

I think Clarkson has a Jamal Crawford end to his career in the right situation.

I tend to agree but it was still weird that what Clarkson actually struggled in last year was the exact things he used to be great at... which is going to his own dribble and finishing whether its by shooting or by his trademark floaters. He turned the ball over from his dribble way more and missed way way more of the type of shots he used to be pretty good at.

I guess overthinking and forcing the pass could be why.... as I feel like his passing improved while his overall decission making got worse simultaneously.

I feel like he didnt care much, he even seemed to come into the season out of shape and unmotivated. The team wasnt winning and the Guard play the first half of the year was horrendous and the second half was full on tanking. I dont think he wanted to be here playing for crappy team.

Go look at Clarkson home/away splits. He didn't struggle at home (was actually fantastic)and was horrendous on the road. One of the weirder seasons from a Jazz player I'm recent memory

I think Clarkson will be a lot better this season with a permanent bench role and not being a starter. I don't mind keeping him. It would be kind of cool if he retired as a Jazz player

He started about a third of his games last season. Clarkson started every game the year prior and was way better.

There’s always a chance a player rebounds, especially when they sucked so bad, but yall reaching way too much.

I mean last year he was awesome when playing with a real pg... Mike. He dropped off after that. I think part of his struggles was trying to operate more as a pg. I think you are focused a bit too much on one year versus career and situation. I don't think his value is sky high. I think it is close to neutral.

I think the bad year factors in but when you look at what he was trying to do... operate as a pg more on a team that wasn't a juggernaut and didn't fit super well... and there are some legit reasons he struggled. He didn't look slower or old to me. Return back to a chucker role and he may be good.

I think that Clarkson is one of the players who needs to be challenged to shine. He wants to play in meaningful games, he wants to be a difference-makers in the playoffs when the game is on the line. In the last two years Jordan, being a smart veteran, knew that the seasons were meaningless and that the Jazz go nowhere so he really did not care to grind it out every game and became sloppy. If the Jazz is going to keep tanking we need to trade him to the contender and Clarkson would probably return to his old form. He would be very good for OKC or the Knicks.

That is weird but sort of fits with him being a mood player. I guess the road trip vibes within the team werent great, but at home the crowd gets him going.
