Cody didn't have a good scoring night, but I like the 2 blocks, 3 steals and 4 assists. At least there's a pulse. A couple of those blocks were big plays.

He was dead tired by the end of the game and I was surprised they kept him in.

Tonje will probably take Juzang's minutes and he will probably be an upgrade over Johnny.

This was the Davy Jones revenge game. Positives: Flip, Cody, Collier, Tonje and Harkless. Cody came up with nice plays in crunch time. Tonje hit a big shot that should have won it in regulation. Harkless was a junk yard dog and Flip was MVP of the league material. The Jazz bench was craptastic tonight.

I thought he was stout defensively, the feet aren't agile but I thought he held up well when defending against Harper. Thought Harper got bailed out on some calls.

He certainly showed more effort than Keyonte or Brice usually do. Overall, a really solid first game.

Tonje was coming off a sprained ankle and I thought looked good for the most part.

His biggest hurdle is his mental and an inability to consistently play hard. Frame/weight isn't as big an issue as those things.

Agreed. Even with his shooting off this game, he was consistently engaged. The shot needs some serious work, but he has some real tools on both ends (first step, length and defensive instincts).

I landed just in time to see Collier make that huge block on Harper and then to see Cody steal the inbound pass. Flip is so gifted offensively, but I think he's going to need to be surrounded by difference making defenders. You could kind of see the vision of how that could work this game.

Harper was ok, but if Harkless is as good of a defender as I think he is, that performance from him is nothing to be ashamed of.

Haven't been able to watch yet, but I see from the +/- stats that the Jazz starters from this game destroyed the Spurs starters. That's gotta be encouraging.

Flip was the difference. Cody actually was a positive. The rest were meh.
