PS: I think this takes away from the notion that Kanter has become this hyper-muslim Turkish sect-member who practices abstinence, that some have been claiming.

I don't know, he continues to tweet for them. If anything, he might be more active these days for his sect. There is a big political fight ongoing between the Gülens and the government right now in Turkey.

And being nice with other religions is just their front, it's their signature all along. Gülen even makes big donations to churches too. So, I bet they must have approved this event gladly.

Of course there is nothing wrong with being good and nice in interreligious relationships which is my principle as well but, anyone knowing this sect from the inside would know that it's as phony as a 3 dollar bill, and would get terrified by their real motives and feelings about non-muslims.

IMHO no matter to what muslim group Enes belongs it is a very nice gesture. Good for Enes. He is big kid himself and now he has a chance to make few more kids happy, so why not?
