I would like to hear why you believe they are empty stats as what stated is not good enough. What is important is that he actually does get the points when he takes a shot as his defence is concerned he is just average and has continued to improve every year and seems to be targeted due to not getting enough blocks which is pointless as blocks tends to give the possession back to the opposing team and does not mean that the player is good at defence just because he gets blocks more often. If you watch him play he does go infront of opposing player and tries to make it more difficult which equate to missed shots. Most Jazz fans seem to forget they are rebuilding and are looking for a escape goat for losing when rebuilding which is insane. The reason he was pissed off and asked for a trade was because he wanted to continue to play and cited that he did not have an eye injury, which was the reason given to why he was subbed off. Also it is delusional to think he would not pass in Oklahoma due to the fact he did not in Utah as apart from Hayward is there any other options. I would like to see which player would be next in the firing line as people forget these are young players.. hopefully there would not be any other players mishandled as the team was slowly starting to gel.
First of all, "escape goat?"
He gets empty stats because the opposing teams philosophy, EVERY TIME HE IS ON THE FLOOR, is to pick and roll right at him which they do with good success. Keep in mind that when the Jazz were a poor defensive team, they singled out Enes Kanter as the weakest spot of our weak defense. On top of that, him being out of position let the other team score AND get position on offensive boards. Did you notice how Portland had only like 3 offensive boards the entire game on Friday? That is because we played sound P&R Defense and kept them off the hoop.
Block shots matter because people tend to stop shooting normally once they have been blocked. Rudy causes teams to shoot 37% at the rim because they fear him. If teams were dumb and tested Rudy all night he would have 10+ blocks. Teams having to shoot long jumpers tends to the other team winning more often.
Enes doesn't CHOOSE not to pass, Enes is too dense to know where to pass to. He has no awareness, which is why he can't pass, play help defense, and why he gets snuffed by the help defender.
Finally, Enes doesn't win games. Name one game where he put the team on his back and took us home. Even Trey Burke does that once in a while, Enes never has. He isn't a star, he is a role player and although he may improve around the edges, the deficiencies in his game are mental which will be very hard to overcome.
