Kirelenko in Trade talks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Boris was packing an extra 20-30 lbs easily for team France in the Worlds this year, not likely that he has even lost that yet. Horrible trade if it goes down, even if he magically got himself back into shape this quickly.

He does this every summer. Its nothing to worry about. Seriously he has done this for the last 5 years.

He never keeps care of his body during the off-season. Should we worry because Sloan will bench him? Yes but in terms of how he will play its not a big deal. He gets in game shape very quickly.

Its not unusual for him to do this. He loses it quickly during training camp or within the first month of the season. He still plays hard. He already has enough quickness to guard PF's even with the weight he has.

I think the deal would get us under the LT threshold for this season, so we wouldn't have to pay dollar for dollar to the league for every dollar we are over. I could be wrong on this, as I don't know the actual numbers. We also wouldn't miss out on the LT revenue that we would get as a result of being under the LT. That is a big money saver for the Jazz. Plus, they get a player they have always coveted, who doesn't miss such large chunks of the season due to injury, and it frees up more PT for CJ and Hayward.

I'm not totally in favor of this, as I don't want AK OR Favors going to Denver, but I don't think this deal is crap by any means - especially if we can get a pick out of it.

I agree. AK CAN be a bigger factor, but the key word there is "can." As we know he often isn't or is out injured. If a deal cuts salaries by $8M or so (thus saving the Jazz $16M due to not having to pay the tax) + allows the Jazz to get a piece of the LT revenue (probably around $4M), and doesn't hurt the team too much in terms of personnel, then it's a no-brainer. Trading AK would mean a NET savings of around $20M for the Jazz THIS season.

I have faith in KOC. How many times have we seen KOC make a horrible trade? Maynor to get rid of Harprings contract was well worth it and we all know it. I would rather have Earl Watson than him anyways. Maynor couldn't guard anyone.

KOC will most likely ask for more talent than just Diaw & Ross. I bet we get a very good role player with Diaw and save cap space. But we will wait and see.

If this deal happens, it's a pretty clear sign the Jazz want no part of the LT this season. I can almost understand it strategically. They know NOW they don't want to pay it, so they don't want to be in a position later to have to unload a player at the deadline if the team is clicking on all cylinders. But if they do it now they don't have an PR messiness. It makes sense, but I don't like it.

I really don't have a problem with the trade per say except AK to DENVER! I hate Denver and I like AK. Its going to be hard to watch him play as a nugget.

Why would we ever trade AK to Denver? And all this for Diaw? Not worth it at all. I'd rather keep AK this year and resign him for cheap.

I think the objective here is to get Carmello out of Denver, so we can compete with OKC for the division.
