The problem is the JAZZ want tax relief. That was part of the whole basis for the trade, which now seems dead.
The way I see it is the Jazz are high on Hayward and like what they see out of Evans (AK-lite). And CJ was going to be a starter last season before he got hurt. Then there's Raja. Plug in the minutes; you can fill the 2/3 without having AK.
We might be able to get more for AK IF the Jazz were willing to take back $17M in longer-term salaries. But they aren't. Miller wants to reduce his tax hit or get under entirely, just as he did last season with the two trades. I don't fault him for that. The Millers are wealthy, but certannly not on the level of Paul Allen, Dr. Buss, Prokhorov etc.
