Kirilenko for Varejao and Mo

Why The Cavaliers won't do it:

Because that would be the equivalent of Dan Gilbert waving the White Flag and saying "we lost LeBron so now we're going to go ahead and trade our two best players so we can suck again for the next 25 years until we fall *** backwards into another once in a generation player."

Antwan Jamison isn't getting traded is he?

Interesting idea.

I'm not a big Varejao fan. He's always a whiny little bitch like he's in a contest with Dirk Nowitzki for the league's Biggest Cry Baby award. But his height and hustle could help in areas.

I watched AK single handedly win tight fourth quarter games last year. I don't understand the outright resentment of AK here. You may not like him or his contract, but give cred where due. Andre wins games. He's extremely crafty, and was often the answer to those famous Jazz droughts. He's not a pure scorer, but he knows how to get to the line. The Jazz need that when they disappear on offense for 4-5 minute stretches. How many times did we see that last year in the fourth quarter? Over and over and over. Then AK shows up, gets the ball high, musters up some awkward looking drive, gets fouled, and breaks the scoring drought. Also, drawing fouls and creating foul trouble substitutions is a huge deficit that the Jazz just don't seem to understand. They could use a little more awkward AK foul flailings early on.

That said, Mo, as a pure scorer, could fill AK's role here much better. Plus the Jazz desperately need a competent backup for Deron. They absolutely fall apart when he's resting.

I'm also not big on filling up on AV's 8.33 m for 4 more years.

i guess you havent read the board much...

Only ten years or so.

seriously, do you expect the Millers to pay the LT EVERY YEAR GOING FORWARD?

Is that what I am advocating? Actually read my post this time, stop posting absurd one-liners and look for the part where I listed the cap ramifications as part of the reason the front office might not want to pull the trigger.

What?! No way in hell. And I like AV but not even remotely close here.

Just when I was starting to have the tiniest hopes there was the slightest possibility, just maybe you would some day, probably very long off in the future but none the less, add something of remote value to any Jazz discussion, you poop out another doozie.

Jazz pull that trigger in a heartbeat if offered.

The Jazz definitely do this deal.

Varejao's an active 6-11 PF/C who might just work out against the likes of Gasol and Bosh.

Those worried about Mo's contract, well he could probably be traded for an expiring and a pick later. That would just leave Varejao's salary by the following season.

Or, before the Jazz get spoiled with a really good, albeit expensive, backup PG/SG, get a third team that would take in Mo for their starting PG and send an expiring to the Jazz (better yet if they have cap space or equivalent TPE) and a pick to the Cavs if that helps get a deal done.

If the Cavs do this trade and then lose Jamison for an expiring from some playoffs team, they blow up their team straight away. More lottery balls and cap space for what it's worth. The Cavs owner should realize that keeping Lebron's supporting cast won't make his Cavs win a title before the Heat as he crazily promised.

Best AK-for-a-big proposal so far.

With Lebron gone, Mo Williams is the Cavs best player. Why would they want to get rid of him, especially when Dan Gilbert promised Cavs fans that they'd win a title before Lebron does. AK doesn't get them closer to a title.

That was in all likelihood promise made at the, um, heat of the moment. He's probably cooled down a bit by now.

Who are the Cavs kidding that they have a shot at beating the Lakers and Miami or heck, a dozen other possible playoffs teams including the Jazz, with their current team?

I bet the Cavs remember how they got Lebron in the first place -- by tanking.
