What's new

Kobe on the shelf again (6 weeks)

...couldn't happen to a nicer guy! (Yeah, I'm a player hater and despise the game, too!) I will probably catch some of the Spurs game tonight....one of the few "watchable" teams in today's NBA!

The **** is this?

Dribble from someone who more than likely has cranial damage as a result of being dropped when an infant.

Anyway, in regards to Kobe. Yup. As others stated, the chances of him injuring himself were high. I'd bet this injury is on his other leg too. I think the league is better with kobe in it but sometimes your heart can't get you over physicality.

Kobe means advertisement and attendance so I don't think the Lakers had second thoughts in giving him the deal even if they knew this was gonna happen. Getting older and having injuries more and more frequently must be a terrible feeling.

I agree with you on both points. There's nothing like having your body betray you as you get older...

...well, one things for sure! Kobe will NEVER catch Malone for 2nd place in total career points! In fact, I suspect that Kobe will be hard pressed to score another 100 points TOTAL before ending his basketball career! He's as busted up as you can be! He's fat, out of shape, old, slow, and nobody is going to cut him any slack on defense, since he was such a buzzard to them in his prime!

Who cares? At the end of the day, the franchises, the teams, the players, play the game to win as many championships as possible. Malone will ALWAYS be lacking that category.

Bottom line, that extension got rid of any chance Kobe had at winning another title. It's his own fault. If he was serious about winning another one, he should have taken less money.
